My bad, forgot about Rod Smith, surely Dallas will try to find a spot for him especially considering he is Jaylons' brother.

Doubt it. Likely try to keep him around on the PS but he's gone if someone wants him

I'd like to see us trade one of them for DE or secondary depth. But I assume that's not likely.

I think you have forgotten last year.

We were pathetic with Randle and the turnstyle we called our backups.

We emptied the Seahawks bench trying to find a player.

Now we have 3 capable guys and you want to ditch one?

Oh my..

For once we have fixed a huge problem and you want to start chipping away at it?

No way.

That's the problem, we have a ton of "logjams" on offense, now at RB, WR, and TE, but we needed to come out of this draft with logjams at DE, DT, and/or DB... Am I the only one who sees that our logjams are in all the wrong places?

Running backs ( everyone forgets that Malena is on the team) :

D. McFadden
E. Elliot
A. Morris
L. Dunbar
D. Jackson
R. Smith
B. Malena

At WR we have:
D. Bryant
T. Williams
C. Beasley
B. Butler
L. Whitehead
D. Street
C. Brown
V. Mayle
E. Eagen
A. Jones
R. ( Rodney) Smith

The running backs have a logjam of better/ higher talented players. The receivers need a little work.

And I doubt they do.

Right now they're pretty assured of getting a comp pick for the guy.

There is a good chance here. I don't think you can get much trade value for him in terms of a draft pick and that tradeable comp pick might be at the same level or higher anyways. Then you have the benefit of having him in there in case one of your guards gets hurt this year.

Let them battle it out in tc and preseason best 3 stays. Don't get why people are so eager to ditch DMC he had close to 1100 yards and most of it with no threat of a passing game last year

Yep, basically just a 2nd would peak our interest if a team gets desperate enough.

training camp will be very interesting. Not only will the backs be competing against each other but also the other positions on the team for one of last spots on the roster. Is Rod Smith (Jaylon's brother) still on the team? If so, I think for Rod and our 6th round pick this year, they need to show some juice at running back and limit any mental errors. But the main thing they need to do is excel on all the special teams. If they do this, then you can factor in age, salary, lack of special teams with some of our other backs.

I could do w/o the rest. If Dunbar can't even make it through TC/PS (wish that was a joke), then we go with McFadden or UDFA w/promise. We drafted a back @ 4, the rest are luxuries tbh outside of the 2nd back. Beasley is only safe because of Romo. Butler bc of potential. Whitehead should be looked at as strictly a returner niche role.

Turn Morris into a FB, ala Mike Alstott. Start Elliot and keep D. McFadden as a backup, that kid Rod Smith now too just to keep the family happy.

I don't see Morris as a fullback at all. Watching Elliott's highlights though there were times when they had two backs in the backfield or when QB would run that Zeke laid out some brutal blocks leading the run. I would not expect this often, but I wonder if this could eliminate the fullback from the roster to create an spot on the team for another position group. I guess it will depend if Elliott likes running behind a fullback. Emmitt liked it while other running backs don't prefer it.
