I disagree with you labeling Ronald Jones as a "Progress Stopper".
My opinion - he was brought in as competition to challenge the current RB incumbents behind Pollard:
Rico Dowdle___3 seasons \ 20 games \ 7 carries for 24 yards
Malik Davis___rookie season \ 6 games \ 38 rushes for 161 yards

Now that Elliott is gone, 2023 is wide open for any and all RBs the Cowboys want to sign on via the draft, UDFA, or another FA like Jones to come in make the team.

Jones is better than Zeke...so there's that.

Even if Pollard gives us a Randle-esque 4.1 ypc average like 2017, the bar has been lowered so much, that it should be acceptable now.
