Last season's Amendola???Should have kept Darius Jackson. Worst front office move by this team in 2 years.

Averaging the Cowboys' NFL rank in three of the best defensive metrics -- points per drive, defensive passer rating, and drive success rate -- here's how we've ranked the last 7 regular seasons.I know I am in the minority here, but we either need to add a veteran, or a draft pick. Since this is a very good draft I would consider using a top 3 round pick on a RB if the value lined up. It is that important.
I've disagreed with you in every single thread you've posted.
This is no exception.
No.
Like who? I've noticed people have been pretty delusional about how far guys they want will fall.Luckily this is probably the deepest RB class ever. Quality backs will be going in rounds 6-7.
I hope you're wrong about their opinion of him. It's pretty clear he's slightly below average overall. Let's hope they saw that.Says who?
I think Dunbar is a RKG for life until we finally let him leave.
As much as we bend over backwards for a marginal talent, the die is cast.
We might even get more rhetoric from the team about how he is such a mismatch player and how he is so explosive.
He is a lot like others like Ogletree and Costa that for some bizarre reason got untouchable status.
We all witnessed first hand how Ogletree, Costa and Hayden etc were subpar, yet it took acts of Congress and Divine intervention to get them off the roster.I hope you're wrong about their opinion of him. It's pretty clear he's slightly below average overall. Let's hope they saw that.
They just needed a little more time and they would've blossomed! We all witnessed first hand how Ogletree, Costa and Hayden etc were subpar, yet it took acts of Congress and Divine intervention to get them off the roster.
I don't think we would have been behind as much as we were if we had run Zeke more.

The only improvement we've made is to go from 4 years of terrible to 3 years of below average.
And that's another reason why Leary will not be resigned... Available resources need to go towards the defense.
I don't think that's the only route that they can go. I don't see it as being either Leary or putting resources towards the defense. Why couldn't they get out of Crawford's contract and free up money for the future? They'd take a big hit this year, but have large amounts of cap space freed up for 2018 and beyond. And they also wouldn't have to worry about where to play a miscast player who doesn't have a true starting role.
People often talk about the team's cap flexibility and ability to do what they want, so I'd like to believe that they have a lot of other options over a Leary or defense way of thinking.
And while I agree with you in that I don't expect Leary resigned either, there are other avenues to approach with regard to finding resources to help improve the defense. Getting out of bad fits and bad contracts would help that cause too.
I agree with that take. I just think there are several reasons why he won't be resigned... Allocating more resources for the defense being just one of them.
