I have Skybeam right now that sucks, service has been out since Tuesday. Not the first time, something with their tower. they bought out a local outfit that was very good at the time. Does anyone use Dish net? Anything else?

My parents had internet with Dish for a while....I think it was through Hughes? It was HORRIBLE. Slow and they constantly got shut off for dloading too much. The caps were insanely low. I'm pretty sure all the satellite services are on the same level....bad.

Drive to Mac Dees and plug in. There is no good alternative when you live near the edge of the known universe.

I had Wild blue years ago and any kind of weather just killed it.

Not just that but any satellite IP has atrocious upload speeds, it is the same for Dish(Hughes) or whoever. It is the only thing out there unless you somehow get covered by a 3G or Wi-Max, but most are not.

If you are in the middle of mountains it sux to be you.

I formerly worked for a company that was a reseller of WildBlue...

Sounds like your dish wasn't aligned correctly...

I had WildBlue for 3 years and while it wasn't perfect, weather was not an issue...

I have been through this problem and the best That I found came from my cell phone provider. Much faster and it ran the signal through the cell towers. Check your cell provider.

WildBlue and Hughesnet both suck. I've had them both and will never pay for that garbage again.

Got a JetPak from Verizon with 4G speed and haven't looked back. And yes... I live in a very rural part of the country (just the way I like it!)
