Murray and Zeke are both on 4 year 25M dollar deals. Zeke actually has more guaranteed money in his contract and cost the 4th pick.

Zeke may be better and younger...but he is not at all cheaper.

For now he is. Zeke is cheaper through 2017, then their cap hits flip. By 2018 Zeke may very well be the best RB in the league, while it wouldn't surprise me if Murray isn't even on his current team. He'll be on the wrong side of 30 and Derrick Henry has looked every bit as good as him.

Tenn is 2-3, and the next 3 games are:
6Sun, Oct 16 Cleveland 1:00 PM ET
7 Sun, Oct 23 Indianapolis 1:00 PM ET
8 Thu, Oct 27 Jacksonville 8:25 PM ET
They should win all 3 if they are going to contend with Texans, who are not that good, neither is indy.
This last game they were balanced, and ran more and passed less than in the losses.
If they keep that up they could win some games.
They paid for Murray they should run him 25-30 times a game.

You should go back and take a look at their contracts. They are actually pretty similar. The difference being Zeke carries much larger dead money charges.

I loved Murray's results.

What makes Zeke different is he not only sees the hole, plants a foot, one cut and he's gone. But he also has moves to get by defenders and real sped to own the edge of a defense.

Right now?

Zeke is not a "much" better player. As we know very well, Murray is a complete back who can do it all. The main difference is that Zeke can do it for another decade, and Murray has a few years left before he starts declining.

both excellent backs. Zeke's abilities as a pass blocker are pretty great. He is standing guys up every game.

I wish we would have had him in the playoff game in 07.

No, the difference is Zeke is 7 years younger, and significantly faster.

I was pissed when they let Murray walk.

I also was pissed when people were dogging him last year. That was Chip Kelly that screwed him up.

Nice to see he still has it.

But, having said all that, Zeke is a much better player. Much doesn't get close to the difference.

DeMarco chose to walk.

The the Philadelphia Eagles for christ's sake.

He's dead to me.

If we get Demarco Murray performance with youth, better blocking and less turnovers, I'm fine with that.

I'm just going off spotrac. According to them, Zeke accounts for $4.5 mil this year and $5.6 mil next year, while Murray's price tag is $6 and $6.25 mil respectively. I won't pretend to vouch for the accuracy of their information, but they're generally considered a trusted source for salary related info.

To me the dead money is a moot point. Dead money only becomes relevant if and when the player is cut, and that's not happening.

Once again here comes someone rewriting history. He waited, did not clean out his locker, and even attended basketball games with the QB and head coach. They had no interest.

Not quite the same thing.

As far as dead to you, am I to take this as some moral high ground on your part?

Exactly. So that full $25M is going to be accounted for on the Cowboys books since we aren't cutting Zeke. It is unlikely that the full $25M will be accounted for on the Titans books for Murray. AFter next year they have no dead money burden on Murray.

And again if we are taking a full accounting of Zeke's cost the number 4 pick needs to not be ignored. In terms of actual compensation and draft capital expended....Zeke is incredibly expensive.

Please follow the thread before you jump in.

The original assertion was that Zeke was better, younger and cheaper.

I conceded the first two points. The argument that he is cheaper is just not true when you look at the actual dollars and draft capital.

I never faulted DM for leaving for more money, but I have never forgiven him for going to Philthy.
