The last time I checked, the United States haven’t invaded Mexico nor Canada. Apples to oranges…..

Not good. I don't believe we have any business locating US assets in Ukraine. We have an already large presence in Western Europe via NATO.

1. the US has never attacked either of those countries.
2. Neither of those Countries have ever been occupied by the US
3. if the US had tried taking over either of those countries aggressively ....... there would be bases there with whoever Canada or Mexico had allied with whether we liked it or not.

Actually the US has attacked both Canada and Mexico twice. The US attacked Canada in the War of 1812 and the Patriot War (1837-1838). They attacked Mexico in the Mexican-American War 1846-1848 and had 2 incursions into Mexico in 1914 and 1916. This is when Germany tried to persuade Mexico to join their side and return Mexico would get all the land that they loss to the US.

Some of our policies and laws do date back to that time. Modern times is a matter of one’s perspective and you did say has never invaded

I did not say invaded ........ I said attacked or occupied.

We did not attack the country of Canada in both War of 1812 and the Patriot War, we attacked the British who occupied Canada.

And we did not attack Mexico .......... we went in to make sure the ***** were not getting a foothold and try to intimidate Mexico to join them.

The Monroe Doctrine of 1823 and the Roosevelt Corollary of 1904 laid the foundation for the US to intervene in Latin America in such instances.

I think we do. You are right we did not engage in gunfire with Mexico WW2 but I believe we went in there while WW1 was going to look for a Mexican rebel who was harassing our towns in the US. I think we are just splitting hairs. I respect your opinion event though I might disagree with some of it. That is ok because that is what makes this forum and our country great.

back in 63 just a few missiles in Cuba almost started ww3

so yea we would invade a long time before the bases were completed

Cuban missile crises has to be taken into account.
The US also made multiple attempts to ghost castro.

With that said...let's get this thread back to the Russia/Ukraine war.
