Well, the Cowboys have a big game on Sunday. I think a win on Sunday against the Rams can help give the Cowboys momentum going into the game against Philly. So, here are my keys to beating the Rams, at least the way I see it.

  • Limit Nacua and Kupp - this is easier said than done, but it's down to DQ to come up with a way to limit Nacua and Kupp. They'll get yards, but DQ needs to find a way to have our DBs cover them and limit them. Obviously, the easiest way is to keep the pressure on Stafford. However, the DBs need to be ready. This will be a tough task, but a good test heading into a battle against AJ Brown and Devonte Smith.
  • Do not let Aaron Donald take over the game - again, easier said than done. Aaron Donald can wreck a game. Our oline, especially the interior oline, is going to need to play a very good game to not let him take over the game. If they can limit him like they did last year, we can beat the Rams defence.
  • Feed Cooks - they're going to try to take away Lamb. Cooks needs to be a focal point in this game. Let's not forget, he played two seasons with the Rams in 2018 and 2019. So, he knows how to get open against their secondary. Use his knowledge to our advantage. Use him and the next point to get Lamb opportunities.
  • Use Dak's legs - I don't mean broken plays. I mean actually design runs for Dak. Make it that much harder for Donald to get after Dak. Make the Rams have to account for this. This and feeding Cooks can open the rest of our receivers up.
  • Limit the penalties - do not give the refs a reason to throw a flag. You can't beat good teams if you're committing the penalties we committed against the Chargers. Play smart.
I think if the Cowboys can do these 5 things, the Cowboys should win this game.

I agree with this, BUT, I think they’ll run more than they usually do.

Not a bad strategy, and running the ball is good to keep them off balance. That said, when we throw it, I think Cooks should be the priority target early, and then shift to Lamb when the Rams start focusing more on Cooks.

Emphasis on feeding Cooks and limiting penalties on that list imo.

The biggest thing, overall though is to score in the redzone, especially the closer to the goal line we get. We desperately need a power running game.

I think if the Cowboys feed Cooks and limit penalties, the red zone stuff will take care of itself this game.

..hit Stafford often.
Stay in your gaps
McCarthy gets creative
Run the dang ball

I do agree that our run game needs to be effective. I want to see Vaughn and Luepke get more touches this game. Vaughn on the outside, and let Luepke carve up the middle.

If our offense doesnt squander early opportunities and score TDs instead of field goals and we get a lead , our D can pin their ears back and get to Stafford , as long as he doesnt have time to complete passes to Cupp and Nacua , we should be ok.

Starts with stopping Run of LA , get lead & make them one dimensional and keep Stafford flat on his back

Wasn’t Henderson the RB that ran all over us in the playoff game, what year, 2018?
Anyway Henderson signed with them a few weeks back or so, because of some RB’s injuries.

Maybe he has lost some steps by now.

I am not sure what type of year Donald is having. Have not heard his name a lot. But this would be the type of game he could be disruptive since it is against us. So stop him.

We really need to run the ball better, get TD’s and not FG’s.
And pressure Stafford a lot. That takes away the WR”s if they can get to him and get him out of his game.

If the Cowboys are serious about making a SB run, then they need to start with benching WENTZ 2.0 and inserting RUSH. At least with RUSH he's going to throw up a heck of a lot more 50/50 balls for his receivers to battle for.
