RW trade a LANDSLIDE in OUR favor

Not that I disagree with your post or anything, but a benefit of having a rookie WR over a proven Pro Bowler like Roy is what you pay them. The rookie has to spend his first 3-4 years making late 1st round rookie money... while the "proven Pro Bowler" is paid like a top-flight WR from the get-go. That's the main reason it's usually more effective to build through the draft.

But yes, I'm also happy with the trade.

wait there are people that actually opposed the trade? Holy **** this is the dumbest message board on earth.

How about that. Surprise, surprise, surprise.

And fire Wade now. Cut Henry. Cut Proctor. Cut Curtis. Cut Anderson. Cut Carpenter. Cut Rodgers. Cut Spencer for being injury prone. Cut Barnett. Bench Romo for Johnson. Bench Johnson for Bollinger. Bench Romo for playing with a broken pinkie esp since it's a broken hand. Fire Bennett. Fire Jerry as GM. Let Garrett go somewhere else. Cut Watkins.

I'm sure I missed some.

While the overwhelming majority of the board are intelligent people the overall 'mob' intelligence leaves a little to be desired.

I agree with the bold.

Again the cost issue is not what he spent as the deal was very good. The issue is could Jerry have spent less. It doesn't appear that Detroit was going to deal for less than they did as it went down to the last few seconds if one can believe Jerry.

no offense, but I highly doubt you're(or anyone else on this board) smarter than Jerry Jones. there is a reason he's a billionair and you aren't.

It's a land-slide for us for "win now". It's a land-slide for Detriot for "win later"

Jerry is a savvy guy but he's not exactly a genius....

No way you knew that off the top of your head, hell, even the best FF players on earth never heard of him. LOL
If you did know that, you need to get help and another hobbie. LOL

Yes, I actually did know that. My brother in law is a Lions fan so I hear the spin all the time. And he was pissed about the RW11 trade. He said the Lions didn't get enough compensation. I laughed at him and called him a fool. He's a nice guy but he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I kind of feel sorry for my baby sis. :laugh2:

Time for him to prove the tarde was good. As I posted in another thread, he wasnt brought here to get a catch or two when Owens gets 3 or 4 like he has the past few weeks. He'll need to have a game or two somewhere where he really torches opponents.

If we end up 8-8 or 9-7 and RW ends up with 25 or 30 catches for 300 yds or something, this trade isnt going to look so good.

Men ROY . is gonna give us 110% now that he is with his dream team. This is gonna be a diffrent Roy from the one in DETROIT.. Just wait and see???? I SAY HE SHINES WITH THE DALLAS COWBOYS..........................................

He SHINED with a horrendous team in Detoit being the #1 option teams would have to defend against with no hlp (except last year) opposite him at W.R. or even a decent T.E. to take the pressure off, or even a great Q.B. to throw him the ball, he excelled being double covered his WHOLE CAREER!
So I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that with a LOT BETTER Q.B. throwing him the ball, he's gonna do better here, with the best T.E. in football taking pressure off him he's gonna do better here, with a #1 W.R. opposite him to take all the double coverage off him AND no longer facing the other teams #1 C.B. he's gonna exell, and to actually have a great running game to take the pressure off him, he's gonna excell.
Put all those factors combined, better Q.B., T.E. that defenses have to worrry about, no more double teams, no more facing teams #1 C.B. all game, and a W.R. opposite him that commands double teams, and I think not onlyt is he gonna excell, he's gonna DOMINATE!

But we'll have to wait about 6 weeks for our offense to be clicking on all cylinders, but 6 weeks form now, the NFL is gonna see an offense they have never seenbefore in the history of the NFL, we'll b scoring 30 points by halftime every week! LOL

If we wind up 8-8 or 9-7 itll be for 3 reasons, and RW aint one of them.

1. Injuries. Can the Cowboys recover and play well enough these next few games?

2. Special teams. Putrid, nuff said.

3. Defense. The one unit I had high hopes for, theyve only paned out a couple games this season.

Pro Football talk Readers Poll agrees that it was a landslide:

Who got the better of the Roy Williams trade?
Lions
5577
Cowboys
1656

Anyone who thought Roy was going to put up numbers this week was lost or just not that bright. It's going to take this guy a solid month to get used to the playbook and aclamated to a new team.
