He was a hard guy to judge in Miami.
Has/had one heck of an arm, and mobility was good especially earlier on in his career. His pocket awareness rivaled Helen Keller.
Also would get careless with the ball at times.
But he also had 1 year with a decent offensive line and run game which resulted in his best year up to that date in 2016.

From the looks of the details so far, seems like a 2 year deal where the team can move on with minimum cap penalties(for a QB) by year 3 if need be.

Like Kirk Cousins, Ryan Tannehill is another example of what happens to a team when they move on from a young productive QB. Both Cousins and Tannehill led their teams to title games last season while their former teams were sitting home with top five draft picks still looking for a QB. You have a board full of dopes on this site wanting us to follow their blueprint for failure. The Dolphins are so stupid not only did they trade away Tannehill but they threw away a second round draft pick and a 5th round pick on Josh Rosen who can’t play.

Miami moved on to tank and Tannehill spent the past 3 years injured. 16 his season ended from a knee injury from C. Campbell. 2017 he refused surgery and tore his acl(From the knee injury) in training camp.
2018 he got injured again.
The owner admitted to wanting to tank and avoid mediocre finishes where the team would miss the playoffs and miss top picks.
So, they shipped off Tannehill and others and had a rebuilding year acquiring a bunch of picks.

The Josh Rosen deal wasn't that bad. Before trading for Rosen, they traded back in the 2nd round and acquired a 2020 2nd round pick. So while they shipped their 2019 2nd for Rosen, they hedged their bets before acquiring Rosen by getting a 2nd in 2020.

If you had watched Tannehill in Miami, it was time for a change, for the sake of change and a rebuild to occur there.

The Tennessee Tannehills were obviously better than the Dallas Dakboys for reasons.
TENN has 4 DLiners drafted in rounds 1-4. And since they run the 3-4, they are all DT types.

For the people saying we let Dak walk instead of matching Russell Wilson's contract (35MM per, 27MM per year guaranteed), look at what Ryan Freaking Tannehill just got.

led his team to the playoffs, won on the road in NE, and Baltimore and almost beat KC. What has dak done? Oh yeah he FAILED in philadelphia in a game for the nfc east

Those 7 passes he threw were absolutely things of beauty though.
Right lol. Straight up one of the arm of the great Ryan Tannenhill....its so funny seeing these guys credit team success to quarterbacks but a year ago when Dak was the most winningest quarterback since 2016 it wasn't a credit to him it was because of his team lol.

This isn't good for the Cowboys end of the negotiations with Dak.

It’s not but the Cowboys argument will be that Tannehill reached a title game and has a better playoff record.

The Dak haters will say that he has more playoff wins than Dak. I don’t hate Dak, I just want to get a deal done that is fair for everyone. That’s all. Not asking for much.

He played well to help his team win in NE and Baltimore. can dak do that??

Tannehill got 118 mil total. CBSSPORTS.COM is reporting that number...so logic says that Dak will want 140 total.
