Let's be honest though. Most fans on this board like Ryan Williams because of 1 good play in the preseason which was reminiscent of what Phillip Tanner did a couple of years ago.

vs Backup players at that. As a fan I'm pinning hope on a guy who could not beat out Dunbar or Randle for a spot on the roster? lol

Glad your not a scout or GM. Watch the games then come back and tell me he wasn't beast.

25 carries for 112 yards.....is this what you call tearing it up?

I am not a scout and neither are you. So I will default to the actual scouts who decided to cut the beast.

Ryan Williams actually fits our blocking scheme better than DeMarco Murray. Murray seems to prefer more man blocking and Williams is a better fit for the zone blocking scheme Frank Pollack likes to employ. If Ryan Williams can stay healthy(big if) and is our starter in 2015, I can see him putting up 1200-1500 yards.

Come on down for nothing more than $5 mil per year, if that!

Seriously? Didn't you just suggest in another thread that Murray at $8.4M per over 5 years wasn't bad? But Peterson is worth, at most, $5M per? I'd love to get Peterson at the price you're proposing, but I'd have to be willing to go higher if, like you, I thought Murray was worth $8.4M per.

I knew once Murray was gone we would have this goofiness to deal with.

It used to be Tashard Choice and before that people got all goofy over a WR...crap I forget his name......Kevin Ogletree...that's him...

Sure if he was the main rb, but with Randle, maybe a draft pick, and Dunbar, highly doubt it.

4.5 ypc and 112 yards...

No scout or GM would form an opinion off of 25 carries in the preseason...

Its not all about yardage and carries in preseason as he was playing behind #2 oline, its the type of runs he had. He basically went through and carried guys on his back on some of those runs.

The Cowboys wouldn't have held on to him this long if they didn't feel he was good enough. IMO he beat out Randle in preseason last year but that might not be saying much.

Exactly
We knew how good he really was but did not want to waste him last year trying to make the playoffs when Murray got hurt and in the post season. This way he will be fresh for the preseason

LOL!!!!! Good one

Dallas has not been hanging on to him last year was his 1st season in Dallas after 2 failures in Arz. He comes to Dallas and can't beat out the likes of Dunbar and Randle. You think Dallas was saving him? lol
