Ryan Williams

I want better than Ryan Williams. Better that Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar too.

None of them are anything more than what has gone through the doors at Valley Ranch and made a home for 15 minutes before the franchise discovered they couldn't handle the pro game.

Coming in as the change up guy and making a nice run or a TD is cool. But showing uop every day and working your tail off to be the best, learning your position, and moving the chains on short yardage is another.

I see nothing in the back-ups I didn't see in the Pips. Nice wiggle, no show stoppers.

The whole reason they signed Williams was to put the pressure on DeMarco. That's it. Period. End of story.

I agree with you, but why would he be turning down other offers while on our practice squad? Was he promised something to keep him here?

I know for a fact (from the liquor store clerk) that as a result of this signing Murray has dropped his demand from 7 mill/yr to league minimum

I want someone who can stay healthy...Ryan Williams has not been able to stay healthy in his pro career.

And since we can not depend, from the side of his history, for Ryan to stay healthy...that would mean Randle and Dunbar getting time.

So yeah...at the very least we need to draft a decent RB or get a journymen RB via FA.

I hate that the draft is after the start of FA. It'd be nice to conduct the draft and see if you're able to find RB value. If you can't, then you know you have to get one in FA.

I have always felt the same, it would make better sence for the teams.

Does Ryan williams qualify for the NFL pension? Trying to understand why he would turn down teams that wanted to sign him to their active rosters

If he can stay healthy, he WILL be special.

Not sure he'll ever be special, but I think he's possibly a capable back for us. At least when it comes to running the ball. I worry about his ability pass protect, which is what I worry about with all of these guys we're looking at. We'll add a college guy somewhere relatively early, I think.

Smart man you are.

Yours Sincerely,

Williams and Murray were in the same draft. The Cowboys had Williams rated higher than Murray. I wouldn't count on him based on his history in the NFL, but he's not just some random UDFA that passed though training camp.

I think the main reason that he didn't get bumped up to the active roster in 2014 was because he is not a good special teams player and the backup RBs don't get enough carries for them to be active without playing special teams.

I think this is correct.
