my favorite Elvis session was the nashville marathon...june of '70.
Elvis recorded 35 songs over a handful of days.
3 albums...thats the way it is,elvis country and love letters from elvis.
3 top 40...i've lost you,you don't have to say you love me and i really don't want to know.
where the american sessions in '69 were structured...these sessions were extremely loose...allowing Elvis to just cut loose...and were undeniably LIVE.
Elvis' favorite way to record....everyone in the studio...together.
this was in my opinion the best studio group he played with...the nashville cats.
all about the same age as Elvis...all with similar musical tastes...and James Burton...his stage gutiarist...was icing on the cake.
some of the best....were incredibly dark.
