IRVING – The Cowboys opened the final day of the 2014 NFL Draft by picking another defensive player.
But unlike second-round pick Demarcus Lawrence this one is underwhelming.
Dallas selected Iowa linebacker Anthony Hitchens, a 6-foot, 240-pound native of Lorain, Ohio, with the 19th overall pick of the fourth round.
According to NFL.com, Hitchens was projected as a seventh-round pick or an undrafted free agent after clocking a 4.74 in the 40.
Bottom line: Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett have some explaining to do.
