when are people going to realize that going out and adding new members to this team is not the solution...

Yeah, because having an open spot on the roster for a guy on IR makes so much sense.

It's not like this team has the depth to just move somebody up and get great play out of them.

I'm not advocating sgning Ty Law or anybody else, but face it, we have virtually no depth left in our secondary. Going out and adding new members may be the only thing they can do.

Michael Huff was benched, maybe Al can release him and we can sign him to keep our bench warm!

I just hope it's not Adam Archuleta...he's out there right?

It will be interesting to see what they do with the extra DB spot but I doubt, very seriously, it's used on Law.

I'd like to see what Law has. I bet it's more than what Henry has shown. If so. Henry can go to FS and Hamlin can move to SS where he is best suited as anyway.

Yes I do believe our Safety position will be addressed in the draft but it's going to be more for depth than anything else.

Ty Law's career is probably over. Nobody wants him because he can't play anymore.

My guess is Roy Williams will be cut at the end of the season. That doesn't mean he won't be playing for Dallas again next year. He just won't be doing it under the same contract.

Considering we traded next years #1, we had better start looking at next years free agents. Henry will probably move to FS, but we will still need another safety if Williams isn't resigned.

Cowboys Work Out Safety
Posted by jellis at 10/21/2008 12:17 PM CDT on truebluefanclub.com

With Roy Williams going on the IR with a broken arm, the Cowboys obviously needed help at safety, specifically someone who could play a role on special teams since the team in so depleted on those units because of injury.

On Tuesday they worked out second-year safety Daren Stone, who was waived by Atlanta on the final roster reduction date before the regular season. Stone was the Falcons' sixth-round pick in the 2007 draft (203rd) overall.

The 6-3, 215-pounder attended the University of Maine, and was an All-Atlantic 10 third team selection in 2005, leading the conference with five interceptions that season.

He played in 12 games for the Falcons as a rookie, and had eight special teams tackles in 2007.

The Cowboys aren't expected to bring in any more safeties this week. Stone will probably sign with the team this afternoon pending a physical.

Is Keith Davis healthy enough after last Sunday? I'd say bring somebody in who can also contribute on special teams because Darren Woodson himself wont be able to step in this late in the season and make an impact.

Darren Stone was a guy the Falcons supposedly liked for his athleticism. I think he did something stupid right around the cut though, and that hurt him too.

If all he does is play special teams, it helps though.
