I know it probably didnt lose us the game, but no one is questioning whether that was actually a safety. I dont believe it was. If the refs were saying the JPP sacked him, he was clearly not in the end zone when he last touched him. Aren't you supposed to get marked at the end of the forward progress spot? he wasnt touched down in the endzone, was he? I just feel like the refs have too much bearing on wins/losses in the nfl now-a-days and its getting ridiculous. thoughts?

There is already a couple of threads on this, but I'll bite. It was a curious call that went unchallenged by Collinsworth and Michaels and totally unnoticed by our sidelines. Romo protested, but that didn't seem to move anyone to question it. Was it reviewable?

His knee never touched the ground until he was in the end zone.

My bad i didnt see any threads.. but i just dont get how no one in the stadium seemed to question it one bit. i dont see why its not reviewable, at least by the booth because it is a scoring play.

It should have been automatically reviewed because it was a scoring play. Why it wasn't I have no idea.

Your knee doesnt need to be down to receive forward progress. he was never touched down in the endzone with his knee down, and he was only being touched when he was at the one yard line. A safety call just does not make sense to me, unless he kneeled in his own endzone but romo was trying to continue the play

How do we know it wasn't? That happens automatically.

No.. they buzz down to the field if its close. that was close. how do they not realize they needed another look at it?
