Does Brees have veto power or is that non existent in the nfl? I can't see him playing for Buffalo or the Jets. The winters can be brutal and he seems like a dome kinda guy to me.

Only one man would take on that contract for an aging veteran and he no longer runs the Raiders :lmao:

Sean Payton's going to look like a very average HC w/o Brees.

Sounds like the owner of the Saints, Benson, grabbed the reins and is steering this horse. You know, Benson, the guy who thinks Ronald Reagan is still president. Benson'e family went to court recently to order a sanity check after he removed them from his will and gave it all to the 2nd wife.

You can't make up stuff this hilarious:) Hey, don't forget, the Saints have a 'real bona fide GM' at the helm. Just like the Eagles, Rams, Browns, Jags, Dolphins, Jets, Bills, et al. Keep it coming 'real GMs.':lmao:

What an insane day. I can't imagine Marcus Colston wanting to stay there. He might be the next one to go.

He played college at Purdue. Every game I watched him play there seemed as if it were cold and dreary.

No trade clauses are rare in the NFl because trades are rare especially for marquee players. But yes ultimately he can gum up any trade as any player can by stating, "I am going to re-tire, I am not going to report, i will be headache, I will not re-negotiate my deal, etc" He can make possible trade partners give pause. But usually if a team wants to trade for him they would go through his agent to see if he would even play for them.

I was wondering the same. MLB no trade clause kicks in after a certain point of service for everyone. Wonder if nfl players can put that in a contract

So which one is it:
1) Brees is washed up.
2) He was never that good.
3) Saints are so bad they can't even make it work with an elite QB
???????????????????

4) The Saints remembered that for years they were a poorly run cheap organization and began to wonder, "Why did we change?"
