I also totally believe its a bunch of crock that the game is being playing in giants stadium, it just goes to show that money comes first in america, its also a bunch of bs that it is a monday night game, this game could of easily been made into a saturday night or sunday night game if they wanted to have full attention of America.

While not the safest, its not even close to what some people who have never been there or have been there once think. Not since the 80's has it been covered in graffiti, crime-filled, etc.

I got this from a travel website too btw:

"The result is that on a per-capita basis, New York City now has one of the lowest crime rates in the country. FBI data shows that among the 25 largest American cities, New York ranks the 23rd most dangerous, beaten only by San Diego and San Jose. New York is safer than many smaller cities, too: among the 182 U.S. cities with populations of more than 100,000, New York City comes in at 136 -- about the same as Boise, Idaho."

So yea, I'd say its one of the safest.

Sorry to go off on that, but I have to defend my hometown.

Did the Jets or Giants use another teams stadium as their homefield?
This is nothing like 9-11. Mother Nature and terriorists, not even close.

Uh no kidding. No one is trying to compare the two tragedies. However the Giants were honored and given a "heros" welcome when they went on the road. The simple fact of the matter is that a lot of people died in New Orleans just as the did on 9/11. ESPN and every other network played this up as the people of NY would welcome in the Saints and make them feel as guests. The booing fans are a disgrace.

Most of America is at home this evening to tune into the Cowboys/Commanders. There is no guarantee that the same audience would be there for any other teams on MNF, or any other night. The Saints/Giants game is feeding off the Cowboys/Commanders audience. If my team wasn't playing, I'd be out at the driving range knocking a few golf balls...and many others wouldn't be home either.

The Saints/Giants game is merely the appetizer...the antipasta.

Actually, Tagliabue himself kinda compared the 2 tragedies. I thought it was pathetic. I heard him here on local radio during the Saints pregame show (I live in Louisiana). He said "what better way to raise awareness than to join 2 teams together from cities that went through tremendous incidents?"

Not many fans are going to walk into their own stadium and see the name of their team coverd up by the opposing teams name and applaud. Sorry aint going to happen. How many teams did that after 9-11? I dont agree with the booing fans either but they certainly were not going to blow the roof of for them either. I live near the Ocean in NC, Not to sound calice but when you live on the water you know there is a chance for these storms. Its a chance you take, a choice. There was no choice for the people of NY. And yes it was being compared.

What a weak kneed excuse. Lets not forget that the Saints players themselves are victims of the Hurricane. How many Giants or Jets players were actual victims of 9/11? You don't think the Saints already feel like crap? They don't deserve to get booed by a bunch of classless @#$clowns.

Hey, you need to stop and relax. I had many friends and people i know die in the 9/11 attacks and i live in connecticut, when im not at school. Im sure many of the giants and jets players had some friends or connection to the victims of the attack. To assume that they didn't is just ignorant and it us unfair to label them like that. I also didnt see the players booing the saints, infact i saw them wearing all the saints uniforms in a commercial to help support the hurricane, so cool it buddy.

I agree that the Saints are getting screwed. Once they blow the whistle, its hard to remember that we're all supposed to be Saints fans...

Yep - you can hear very clearly from the fans on the first td - this is really a home game for NY - an extra home game.
It sure is. I heard some pundit the other day actually say that the usual Giants fans wouldn't be there and he thought a bunch of neutral "NFL fans" would show up and root for the Saints. What a bunch of hooey that was.

The league should be completely ashamed of itself for making an already troubled team play one of its home games in front of a hostile crowd. No amount of celebrity telephone operator shots can change the fact that this wasn't about what's doing best for the Saints.
