The few articles I've read about the players who have been "questionable" for the Saints game and then contradicting reports that some of them practiced has me nearly convinced that Sean Payton is pulling a Joe Gibbs routine with Reggie Bush and his wideouts in an effort to catch Dallas having prepared for the wrong matchups.

I don't think it will work but I'm certain you'll see Will Smith, Reggie Bush and Marques Colston in the lineup on Sunday night. I would not be surprised to see the veteran Joe Horn be a game time decision as well.

The whole thing smacks of an attempt at trickery. That's not to say these player's aren't hurt but their injuries might well be exagerated.

What's funny is, this crap may have worked some in the 80s before mass media/internet took over the world. You can't hide anything these days, because guys like Ed Werder are standing 24/7 in front of your practice facilities and their sole job is to figure out everything down to which player had a hangnail removed at 11:22am right before a team meeting. I'm sure that an experienced coach is hardly phased by an injury list.

To digress for a second...Gibbs never really had success with much of anything in the first place. He won Super Bowls in seasons with strikes and replacement players. If Skins fans wanna talk about the 1991 season...that's fine cause Parcells still owns Gibbs. Lastly...during the most recent Gibbs stint, he went 6-10 his first year...had a meaningless playoff appearance in his second year and is now on pace for a 4-12 season so if I were an NFL head coach, the last thing I would want to do is emulate that idiot.

Funny thing, Parcells is just about the opposite. You have to be in a coffin and the lid has to be nailed shut for a player to make the injury report. Course then the other team might be preparing for someone who is not going to be there.

Honestly, I'd be shocked if Colston or Smith played and equally shocked if Bush DIDN'T play.
