I doubt it was a Jerry Jones smokescreen to acquire James Washington. It was a long reach to acquire him at modest cost. Stephen Jones, McClay, McCarthy and even Kellen Moore were part of the decision making equation. I doubt 80 year old Jerry has the energy, stamina and insight to single handedly have pursued Washington. Jerry is just a figure head GM who is happy to roll with keeping up appearances. It is annoying and distressing that he hangs on to that GM title when we and the football universe know full well that he can't even keep up with the responsibilities of the GM position. If Stephen Jones one day assumes the GM position I will crap out an ostrich.James Washington was a Jerry Jones smokescreen replacement for Gallup and Cooper. He forgot to plug in the fog machine though and it was a next level epic failure.
