I don't know if he genuinely lacks self awareness or he's trying to convince himself and everyone else he still belongs.
He's been trying to make it with smoke and mirrors for years and his time is almost up.

I actually feel for the kid. Imagine being "this" close to being a high first round pick and living your dream; only to have it snatched away from you at the last minute. Then he's told his leg will never be right and he keeps his chin up, works his butt off and makes it back. Good on him.

I wish him well.

I know his career could have had a totally different trajectory….. but it makes me wonder if he ever would have really been that great anyway.

It seems like he really struggled with play diagnosis at this level…. where talent alone can’t get you by. Feels like he had a good year or two though and the league figured him out quick. Wherever the time missed really hurt him or not is debatable.
He was just an insanely gifted athletic freak in college that got him by. Basically a man amongst boys.

However that changes drastically in the NFL and what we gathered from his play, his football IQ was atrocious.

I mean I could be totally wrong and admire anyone who puts that much effort into making a comeback like that to play a professional sport but I think his IQ and instincts would of held him back injury or not

I wouldn't want him playing linebacker for any team I like, but I actually think he would be a great WWE wrestler once he decides to call it quits trying to chase the NFL dream.
I agree. He could definitely make a good pro wrestler. He's got the athleticism and the charisma for it.

Anywhere but here.. I wish he stayed in the division. Just a terrible pick at the top of the second round. He probably wouldn't get the hate he does if he went in the 6th or 7th or better yet UFA.

They probably just signed him because every team wants to know our entire playbook ....because they're so jellie of us.

Shoulda never played in that bowl game.
May be his physical side wouldnt have been hampered if he had not got injured, but mentally ?
he has to thank Jerry for taking a chance , stick with him and even gave him a fantastic 2nd contract.
actually I met-the guy and he was a good person. But he never lived up to the hype.

Good to see him still in the league , the guy was always cheerful ( some times cheering with the boys when he was playing against us , LOL )

my son is playing football for the first time. He is 7. And its tackle football.

His coaches are lining him up at inside linebacker.
See if the coaches will start lining him up as a defensive back or as a wideout for future earnings potential.
