Now that the Ro51 doesn't apply anylonger and with the roster moves we made anyone have any clue as to our cap sitituation?

Someone posted this and I cannot find the thread.

We have 6m free
+Morgan was like 775k
+Robinson was 1.5m (I think)
+Obogu was 600k (I think)
Cap=8875000

-Price was 1.5
-Fujita 600k (I think)
-Pyle is 300k (I think)
Cap=6475000

So we saved 475k

Granted my numbers are wrong but it should be close.

The cap number ESPN has\had takes into account the Rule of 51 which doesn't apply now and since we cut some of the top 51 contracts and then added Price I'm wondering where we are. I'd like to think we are around 6-8 mil under but other than Adam letting us in or ESPN putting out new numbers I don't have a clue. BUt it would be nice to know.

Thanks for what you have here

BTW I think Robinson was 1.1 and Price is between 1.5 and 2.5 depending on how they look at the incentives are they likely to be earned or unlikely? Likely will count now unlikely will count only when he meets the incentive.

So I'm thinking along the same lines it's kinda a wash.

I'm also wondering if any of the players have dead money being applied to next season?

Assuming that Price's cap number is $2 million (I haven't seen the official numbers yet), we're $5,419,223 under the cap, pending whatever injury settlements we reached with Vollers, Cundiff, Barnes and Merritt. We should end up with a little more than $5 million of cap room.

Nice! After signing Price...we are still in great cap shape. I hope we can get a hold of a nice back up OT...that position (Tucker) scares me behind Flo and Petitti.

Thanks again, Adam... because of you, I don't have to sharpen the pencil and try to figure this stuff out...

If I thought that these numbers gave you a headache like they do me, I'd send you a 500 count bottle of aspirin... :D

I'm guessing we'll use most of that money the same way the Iggles do, we'll negotiate some new deals with the players on the roster who will be free agents next year...

Can we accerlerate any Future money into that, and if so who would be a good canidate?
Thanks

It's much easier just to push our leftover cap room forward at the end of the year.

That's great we are in a position to do that...and who knows find a solid back up OT in the process.

Can you do that, if we dont spend it in anyway, can we carry 5 mill to next years so, if say the cap is 100 mill (nice round number, dont know for sure) would we actually have 105 million to spend? I thought it was a use it or lose it type deal.

Nope you can we did it last year by placing money on incentives for Romo that he won't reach then we got that money back in the cap this year.

There's a simple loophole that allows teams to push unused cap room from one season to the next. We did it with our leftover $5,258,939 last season.

I never knew that. Is there a max that you can send into next year?
