So what do all these people say if / when we win withOUT T.O. ? Do they apologize and come back and say,"Maybe T.O. was the problem?"

why would they?

The Cowboys were 13-3 just a year ago WITH t.o.

A bad year is a bad year.
As Salisbury stated, winning > chemistry.

This Cowboys team has to find a way to win and I think that may mean more reliance on running the ball and playing defense. Then you ask Romo to make plays only in spots not every drive.

Someone really needs to explain this to me.

What has Romo ever done or said that suggests he gives a rat's a** what the fans, media, and/or Hollywood think about him?

I agree. He dates Jessica but he does not talk about it even when the media is asking. I have seen nothing from Romo to suggest he is looking for the spotlight. Hell Troy Aikman and some other players made a country and western album and he had appearances on some sitcoms TV shows was dating Lorrie Morgan was he looking for the attention and the spot light? Romo has not won it is as simple as that and until he does some will look for every reason to bash him.

The article is biased against Romo. ESPN has now found a new whipping boy with Owens gone. They'll go after Romo with a vengeance in search of the almighty ratings. While I agree that Tony needs to assert himself more as the leader of not only the offense but the whole team, some of the crap Salisbury wrote about him being self-conscious about his image and stuff in conjecture at its worst. This is farther from the truth since Romo has gone out of his way to say that he doesn’t give a **** about perception. Even Troy and Roger were critical of him because of it.

When McNabb stood up to T.O., it backfired in a major way. Then the media ripped McNabb for being too sensitive and not taking the high road.

Romo learned from McNabb's mistake and took the high road. So now he's being ripped for "being a wuss" and not standing up to T.O.

It's irrelevant, anyways. You said that you agreed 100% with everything Salisbury said.

"I'm tired of Romo worrying about what the fans think, what the media thinks and what Hollywood thinks."

Now tell me why you agree 100% with this statement, and please provide examples from Romo that support this notion.Examples?

What has he ever said or done that makes you believe this?

the girlfriend thing is true. he has gotten really testy only a few times and they have been generally related to the jessica stuff.

that doesn't bother me actually.

i want romo to tell the media to shut up about his love life and his girlfriend.

only dbags insult someone's girlfriend.

Winning is greater, thing is when a team hits a bump in the road that is when a team needs to come together and rally around one another that is where chemistry matters. Face it few teams will make it through a season without any lows. It is easy to be a great teammate when things are going smooth it is when you go through a hard time in a season where the true character shows itself.

Dallas still has work to do
Posted 3 hours ago

Terrell Owens had to go.

The Cowboys made the move they needed to, according to the Cowboys. I have had plenty of run-ins and disagreements with Owens over the years. I believe the Cowboys' production on the field will be affected unless they find another stud receiver or Roy Williams proves he can be a No. 1 wideout in the NFL.

I still like T.O. as a player. Defenses still have to respect him. He may drop too many balls, but he also is a gamebreaker and a lightning rod. Had the Cowboys taken care of their on-field business, the off-field and locker room antics would have never been talked about.

I think winning comes before chemistry. You can hide problems if you win and the Cowboys didn't do that enough. Yes, Owens can be a pain in the ***. Yes, Owens can and has destroyed locker rooms. Yes, he is selfish, but most WRs are -- it’s just a diva position. I don't mind a guy wanting the ball, but I do mind if it is at the expense of winning. Can the Cowboys win without Owens' antics? Yes. Will they be better on Sundays? Who knows. I do promise you this though; the Cowboys have far more issues than just T.O.

Now that T.O. is gone, the Cowboys players have no more excuses and can't point a finger at Owens. I wish Owens was more mature, but fat chance. That being said Owens will help the Bills. I guarantee it.

The Cowboys have two major issues.

1. Leadership. When your best leaders are the owner (Jerry Jones), your new backup QB (Jon Kitna) and your new linebacker (Keith Brooking), but none of them has ever played a down in a Cowboys uniform, that is a major problem and it's embarrassing. The Cowboys will never win a title without at least one great leader.

2. Tony Romo. Romo is talented, sometimes explosive and makes plays. He just doesn't get them over the hump. I like Romo as a player and a person. But I for one am tired of the QB coddling. I'm tired of Romo worrying about what the fans think, what the media thinks and what Hollywood thinks. I don't care who Romo dates. Hell, if he wasn't the Cowboys starting QB, Jessica Simpson wouldn't know who he was. If you don't perform on the field, your off-the-field interest will suffer. Romo must start to win big games or he will always be looked at as just a stats guy.

I think Romo can get better, but he better protect the ball, work hard on mechanics (which he is very average at) and realize that he must stop worrying about what people think and worry more about finding ways to win. Romo and the Cowboys must also get emotionally and mentally tougher. Aside from the Yankee shortstop, the Cowboy QB is sports' most watched position. The Cowboys have handed Romo a golden ticket.

If Romo doesn't start winning in January, his golden ticket will turn into a bus ticket out of town. I believe in Romo, but I do it with trepidation. With Owens gone, the football world can't point the finger at him if the Cowboys falter.

I believe everything he saying is valid. Everybody looking at Owens like he's the reason of Romo messing up in late season and playoff games. We'll see what's the excuse next. Jason Garrett? Roy Williams? Offensive Line? And Guess what? you can't blame Wade for the offense but I know what you can blame wade on...

On not being more spoken as a head coach. He's one of the reasons why Cowboys or any other team that ever served under him can't win a playoff game. I bet the whole locker room feels like Tela Tubies at Half-Time. We have a carebear for a coach. Hardknocks exploited our weakness this year, and that's how soft the practices is. There is no real contact in these films just straight up good acting, that's why we are stars.... Roy Williams sneaking in T.O. room. Great Acting. Adam Jones telling Tank Johnson to respect his space on camera. Real. I will miss Roy L. Williams and Terrell Owens. But, we shall see what we in for. Hopefully Roy L. Williams signs a 1 year deal and we could possibly change to a 4-3 and bring him back on board along with Terrell Owens and Julius Peppers, maybe even Shawne Merriman. Madden Style.

Nice article btw.

well he did and he named qb after qb for various reasons who were better.

He laughed at the idea of romo being in ben, manning, palmer, mcnabbs class of qb.

all the owens lovers were calling up agreeing with him and saying he was in the bottom 10 of qbs and not in the top 10, ironic huh?

oh and salisbury tries to be this tough guy with all these big opinions here just like he was on espn, except here he will dog romo for an hour straight and then say things like...oh I still think romo is good though and I like him......but....

Its really a horrible show on the fan. I hope it is gone soon.

The examples you seek is in his play.
Hahahahah

So you got nothing. I figured as much.

"Oprah Winfrey needs to start worrying less about her high score on 'Guitar Hero' and more about her TV show."

And I don't need a shred of evidence or support for this ridiculous notion!

There is not a word or a sentiment in this portion of this column that I do not agree with 100%.

It's time for Mr. Happy to grow up and lead. Four years of learning and two-and-a-half years of playing, this is a seminal season for Romo.

Protect the ball. make good decisions. Understand a six-yard gain on first is sometimes the better option over throw long and miss the receiver.

This is your team, Romo. It will go just as far as you take it.

Time to get your mature on.

So much easier to sit back and bash a player, not very fun defending one.
