That was a lucid and thought filled blog by Salisbury. I never thought I would use those words to describe anything he had to say.

"I like Romo as a player and a person. But I for one am tired of the QB coddling"......"I believe in Romo, but I do it with trepidation." Those two quotes sum up how I feel about Romo.

i agreed with most of what he said although as critical as i have been of Romo at times i really dont think his problem is that he cares too much what others think

Not sure I buy that either. I think the "perception" that Troy Aikman was referring to is that Romo doesn't seem as affected by losses as he should. Or that he may not care about football that much. That's why his quote after the Eagles game was dissected so much.

I believe Romo cares and is a competitor. I believe he wants to win but as the QB of the Cowboys you cannot wax philosophical about a loss in football not being the end of the world. It is true but it creates a "perception" that carries itself into the lockerroom you are trying to lead.

yea its the perception more that he doesnt care enough that bothers me. i have no doubt that he wants to win as anybody but the perception that football is just a game to him as the QB of the Dallas Cowboys really gives the wrong impression of him that i know isnt true!

True it is a preception thing and Romo may have been better off not saying it but I don't think for a second that a loss does not kill Romo as it would any other competitor it shows on his face and the tone of his voice. Romo has been honest from the get go when people are heaping praise on him he was the 1st to say that the praise goes away as quickly as it comes. When he said if losing a game is the worst thing that happens to him in his life he is right but people don't want to hear that.

Romo has issues beyond his comments and who he sleeps with.

He needs to bridle in his desire to throw the low percentage pass when the play is falling apart.

He needs to learn a six-yard completion is better than a 30-yard overthrow.

He needs to become the guy the offense looks to when the going gets tough.

This player has been here long enough that he should be comfortable and in his element.

Romo needs to step up this year and correct his mental mistakes, his emotional mistakes, and lead this team.

He has the skill.

Can he close the deal is the question.

Palmer is overrated. but he's not in the class of the rest named. him and Garrett have a lot to prove this year.
Never thought i'd hear you say something somewhat object about Romo. Hats off.

I believe everything he saying is valid. Everybody looking at Owens like he's the reason of Romo messing up in late season and playoff games. We'll see what's the excuse next. Jason Garrett? Roy Williams? Offensive Line? And Guess what? you can't blame Wade for the offense but I know what you can blame wade on...

On not being more spoken as a head coach. He's one of the reasons why Cowboys or any other team that ever served under him can't win a playoff game. I bet the whole locker room feels like Tela Tubies at Half-Time. We have a carebear for a coach. Hardknocks exploited our weakness this year, and that's how soft the practices is. There is no real contact in these films just straight up good acting, that's why we are stars.... Roy Williams sneaking in T.O. room. Great Acting. Adam Jones telling Tank Johnson to respect his space on camera. Real. I will miss Roy L. Williams and Terrell Owens. But, we shall see what we in for. Hopefully Roy L. Williams signs a 1 year deal and we could possibly change to a 4-3 and bring him back on board along with Terrell Owens and Julius Peppers, maybe even Shawne Merriman. Madden Style.

In another thread, I posted a list of things that occurred in the final 4 games that lead to 3 losses that had nothing to do with Terrell Owens (ints, fumbles, poor tackling, etc). (and got based for it)

Those things don't go away with with Owens' release. They're a problem until they are fixed. So far I've seen little to address those problems. Let's hope guys get it together in camp.
