Sam Montgomery?

This situation did make me think of Marvin somewhat. I don't have a problem if Marinelli says the same thing to this guy, and we sign him. We all know thats what he will say to him, so I don't see why we wouldn't try if he fits what we do.

Gotta trust Marinelli on this.

I agree, Marinelli isn't going to put up with his ****

Doesn't matter if they are different or not. Still the same principal. If he doesn't straighten up then cut his *** and your lost nothing. Nothing to lose with everything to gain.

I'll just say, easier said then done and leave it at that.

Low cost, big reward.
We need DL bodies badly. Worst case scenario, he doesn't work out, we release him, we lose nothing.

If we were losing a pick, that's one thing. This scenario is a win-win. He can't be any worse than Vega was Sunday..

Everyyyyyyone was dogging him.. saying he wouldn't even get a look after his poor combine. He ran a 5.2 at the combine, was 20lbs overweight, etc etc. Boy did he turn it around.

Okay so Montgomery got 17 sacks his last 2 years while being lazy? Imagine him motivated haha. Food for thought.

There had to be much more with Burfict. He was an absolute animal at Arizona... I have no idea what made him lose all the hype. His stock was dropping fast before the draft... Then he came to the combine looking like a fat slimeball which dropped him further. He has played amazing this year and not bad last year either. Dont know why exactly he went undrafted. I wish the best for that kid, he has some issues from his upbringing.

No its called, the kid is young, has potential and plays a position we need depth at, and its a very low bargain cost.

it seems to me, that Rod is letting everyone of his "rushmen" know what he expects out of them and if they can't produce then they are gone. Having said that I don't have an issue bringing in SM to have a look see.

Sign him up. Maybe this will finally motivate him. He is saying he wasnt smoking weed, and was wrongly released.

Yeah after looking at I will take it. 4 year 2.6 million.

Absolutely we would want to pick him up on waivers, because if he works out, it's like we just got an extra 3rd round draft pick all of a sudden, which could certainly help us out at a position of need.

Hell if he works out maybe we don't need to draft a defensive end next year. Same thing for Austin. If he works out, maybe we just try to resign Hatcher, or you look at Austin and Bass for the inside. You also still have Crawford coming back.

Making a low buy here, could really allow us to focus on finishing our offensive line or drafting a running back or a free safety. So many things we could do, simply by hitting big here.

Look at what happened with Leonard Davis and Marc Colombo. This guy was just drafted a few months ago, I don't care if he has red flags plastered all over him, we're not spending a draft pick on him, and we can pick up a super cheap contract for 4 years if he works out.

Burfict is also an animal on the field. So that helps...

Sam Montgomery was in college. And he's a rookie. He's also in the wrong scheme and on a team that doesn't need him as much as Cincy needed Burflict.

Yeah you just never really know unless you give it a try, in a different environment he might react differently after being cut. We have alot of holes, and if we can fill some this way, then it will give us the opportunity to truly draft BPA for a change.

He cleared Waivers and is now a free agent

You're right, he would have cleared yesterday afternoon. Surprised we didn't go after this, but maybe they want to do a one year deal at the minimum or maybe they just aren't interested. IDK

I'm sorry, but I think that is silly. These are grown men who are focused on their career. Montgomery loafing (assuming he would) wouldn't make other players who are motivated loaf. This isn't a high school or even a college football team.

This goes against everything we know about sociology and human nature.

His last year of college football was a total bust. Do some research and you will understand. The guy went off the deep end.

with the cap situation as it is and the mass exodus coming on the dline this offseason, the cowboys need cheap talented players. stop worrying about the RKG nonsense. like i mentioned in another thread, what did matt johnson, danny coale, caleb mcsurdy get us? you're telling me you wouldn't trade all of those scrubs for an opportunity to draft burfict in 2012? wake up people this game is still about talent. and like GB said, these are grown men professionals in the locker room. this isn't high school where one player infects a locker room. T.O. comparisons to a rookie with no clout is ridiculous.
