not detrmined yet. Apparently the other driver pulled in front of his vette, but my guess is he was also speeding...who was at fault?

Dam I’m so stupid, I thought that these them there Corvettes were all V16’s!V12 in the back of it? Does he not have a clue about cars? Or did he actually get a custom V12 Corvette built by someone?
strange description........ normally if someone pulls in front of you, you hit them head on. The entire SIDE of the Vette was destroyed.... how does that happen if someone pulls in front of you?Just read the police report. He was going north and the Infiniti driver going south and turned in front of him. Seems like He was not at fault unless he was speeding because he had the right of way.
The air bags are a big part of that. Once deployed, it’s over and they need to be replaced.
I’m still a little surprised that a car of that cost isn’t worth repairing. The body shop guys get the same hourly rate as a cheap car.
In the end I guess that once front end damage passes a certain point, it’s beyond money, and just not fixable.
At least he is ok and didn’t appear to pull an Eric Williams or way worse.

Does not matter, it’s all about the designed in crumple zones.I bet the fiberglass didn't help to minimize the damage.
Of course it was totaled. When it costs more to fix it than it's worth, the insurance company totals it.

Insurance companies today are much quicker to total a car than attempt to repair it.
it is very unlikely the person that hit him has 100k in coverage for property. Williams own coverage going to kick in and cover whats left. Then, that 22 year old young man is going to see his rates go up higher than they already are, which is damn high for a 2022 c8 Vette. I would bet money, that while he may not be at fault, I would bet he was speeding. Id actually be shocked if he wasnt. That's going to be a bad day for whoever hit him, if that's the case. Not to mention that it was a new enough car, apparently, to where it probably had a lot of value. That insurance situation is going to be a nightmare.
Lol... Williams would quit because of humiliation..those guys played with broken bones, the guys today get a hang nail and their out for 2 weeks. He was out Sunday with some neck stiffness and a few cuts on his face.
I wonder what the 70s Cowboys players would think of that?
And charge more for premiums too!
I didn't really read the "only football players" part into it, I don't think that was really his point. Nevertheless, I think it's relatively safe to say that young guys with a lot of money don't usually buy super fast cars to drive them slow, and I suspect that would include football players. I live in Dallas and I see the Vettes, Ferraris and Lamborghinis roaring down I 75 and the Dallas N Tollway every day. A few appear to be owned by older wealthy business men driving safely while trying to relive their youth, but more of them are driven by guys who think they are indestructible, too young to own a bank and obviously too wealthy to sling burgers. Around Dallas that would frequently include professional basketball and football players.Your comment implied that only football players with a high-powered vehicle try to emulate race car drivers.
My response to your comment -- many other people -besides football players - that can afford the same type of automobile - wind up wrecking their car.

I'm sure driving a high dollar, high powered machine like a Vette presents a powerful temptation to put your foot into it, especially if you're young enough to still think you're indestructible. Claims are what cause rates to go up. Doesnt matter if he isnt at fault. A 100k claim on your policy doesnt lower those rates. We will see. Though, if it's ruled that he was not at fault but he was speeding at the time of the collision, then yes, his rates probably will increase. If he wasn't speeding, then I'm not sure his rates will go up as he would be not at fault at all.
