Like everyone else, I've been wondering what in the world is wrong with this team, and I thought back to last year. I remember having these same thoughts in the beginning of the year, specifically the giants and bronco games. The cowboys looked un-disciplined and sloppy. Both games were close and we appeared the better team, but lost the same way we are doing now. The boys seemed to get it together under the leadership of Brooking until they imploded against the Vikings.
I think somthing maybe slightly forgotten happened that brought our defense around. We were playing good up front in the beginning, except Ware wasnt generating his normal pressure and Spencer hadn't found his first sack yet. I think though the biggest change though was when Hamlin came back. Don't get me wrong, I think Hamlin was average at best, but he was a decent quarterback for our back field. whoever was doing it while he was injured was NOT and we were getting torched in the passing game. Whoever is doing it now is Not and we are getting torched again. So, to clearly state my point, I think Ball is non existent in his play (most of us know or suspected this) and more importantly we are missing a smart backfield quarterback.
Offensively I just dont know, I can only guess that our defensive improvement last year covered a lot of our offense' mistakes maybe because of better field position? more opportunities? Tony is my favorite player on this team, and I really hate to think he's the major problem, but could he be?
I just can't figure this offense out. We normally look really good in the no huddle, when we dont have to think and Romo is making the play calls. I dont remember JW jumping offsides before Garrett, but this has looked like a "stupid" offense even back to the Tuna. I remember thinking last year against the Giants or Broncos, not sure which that the deflected interception was a fluke (the one where JW kicked the ball in the arms of a defender) but here we are again, "twice". That has to be on Romo.
I won't waste more time saying I have no idea whats wrong with our offense, but just thought my post might inspire some theories from those more enlightened minds out there.:starspin
