Just another ploy from them, they will not relocate, especially to Texas. Idle threats to get them a new stadium and I hear they will play(want to) at the same new stadium the Niners play in until Oak gets one of their own.

Jerry will not allow that to happen. SA loves the Cowboys and that's a huge market for us down there. San Antonio will never get another sports team besides the Spurs. Well professional that is. They are seemingly mentioned every few years for relocation of not only football but baseball as well. Nothing more than leverage for the that team to get what they want. In this case, Raiders want that new stadium to be built. Preferably in LA.

Yeah, nothing to see here.

They want a new stadium. Unlike other teams...they can't use LA as a ploy to get that corporate welfare.

I agree. Plus the Alamodome is already obsolete by NFL standards. It would need to be remodeled or a new stadium would need to be built.

You really think every owner votes independently? No. You have your powerful owners i.e. Jerry and Kraft and a few others and they can influence the owners. Jerry has power in that circle. He will not let a team come to SA. And if he doesn't want it, the other owners will oblige.

In the article, it says the Alamodome could be remodeled and ready for the 2015 NFL season and that a new stadium would have to be built in a few years of the Raiders moving there...I am not saying I buy that the Raiders are moving to SA, but the Alamodome is not going to be what would prevent them from it...

When's the last time a team was prevented from moving to another city?

Not exactly the answer you were looking for, but in baseball, the Houston Astros' owner vetoed anytime Dallas tried to get an expansion team. So Arlington mayor Ted Vandergriff worked hard to get the Washington Senators to move here. In the early days, they had a memorial day for the Astros' owner...a plane flew over the stadium and dropped his body in effigy. :D
