as annoying as Ellis was, our defense misses him.

Ellis played a different position here and had different responsibilities. As DE he is a pure rusher and that is what Ellis excells at. When he was here he sucked in coverage and was decent vs the run.

Ellis decent against the run? Dude, Ellis was very good against the run.....he was mediocre in coverage.

We could have used him both in stopping the run and rush the passer.

Probably should have kept him and alternate him/Spencer in series to keep them both fresh. I really don't know what our front office was thinking?

Well, Russell can block like a beast, so he's got that going for him.
I think we just found our future LT.

Jamarcus looked like an offensive lineman lead blocking there, and by that i mean fat and slow.

it would have been ok had we drafted better........or had our draft picks not all ended up on IR or PUP

The good news for JaMarcus Russell fans, he can't Q-B but he sure as hell can block for you. Yea...that's how Davis could justify making him the overall #1 pick.

Gawd can we please cancel this game and the rest of the Raiders and Chargers season please?

To get rid of the whiners...Ellis' constant whining sent him packing...and Spencer won the starting job toward the end of the season because he played the run better than Ellis. We just brought Ellis in on passing downs to rush the passer.

But we already knew our draft picks were all way over their heads. What's the hurry of holding on to Ellis for one more year? We cut down to 52 and actually had one more spot avail which we filled with some outcast from Bengals (Bengals!).:bang2:

Mike, Mike, and Steve arent bad for a crew that is just thrown together. It could be worse....Theismann, Gumble, and Collinsworth

Plus the guys we got were DEs in a 4-3 in college and never had any coverage responsibilities. OLB in a 3-4 is the hardest transition for guys to make because of the technique, responsibility, and quickness they need to have to be successful.

the Brandon Williams injury is unfortunate but Butler and Octavien w/ some coaching should pick it up mid season to spell Ware and Spencer. WP may be a terrible head coach but he knows how to coach up LBs.

All the guy wanted was a chance to COMPETE for starting job. Coaches could easily do the same as Jenkins/Scandrick by alternating starts.

Our LBs depth is too thin for my liking and may come back to haunt us.
