Watching Phillip Rivers and LaDainian Tomlinson attempting to gain some sort of chemistry the past two years has been hilarious.

The little dump to the flats to LT which should go for a good 7 yards every time is like quantum physics for those two. Either LT isn't where he's supposed to be, or he gives up on the play, or he isn't looking for the ball, or Rivers misses him by a mile. I don't know how much better Rivers' stats would be if he could actually complete those passes once in a while.

In 3 seasons with Rivers as his QB he's caught 160 balls for 1354 yards. That's an 8.5 YPC. His average before Rivers got there was more like 7 YPC.

He's averaging few receptions per year (68 vs. will end up around 58 or so) - but that is driven mostly by his 100 catch season early career.

Something is working well between them

You should probably watch more Chargers games. I'm not making this up.

he can be #3 @ RB on the depth chart and when he's not on the field he can hand Barber some Gatorade or hold the oxygen tank for Felix after he breaks off a 50+yd TD run.

So even though he and Rivers aren't on the same page, his receiving numbers are really really good?

Yes. You would have to watch them on a consistent basis to understand what I'm talking about. I've never seen so many misses on simple dump offs. It's the way they're missed, too, like I said before. It doesn't show up on a stat sheet, but I assure you it happens alot.

When is the rest of the world, or at least the Chargers going to get a clue and realize that A.J Smith is a blow hard. The guy easily has the biggest ego in the NFL. I mean name one guy who could keep his job after running Brees and L.T out of town and hire a sub par coach. For a team that had a legit shot at a Super Bowl. I really feel bad for some of those players that they have to deal with all the karma that the Spanos family has brought onto them. Now that I think about it A.J Smith and Dean Spanos were meant for each other.

your sig is hilarious

They already have a star in waiting in Darren Sproles...they don't need to focus on drafting a new franchise back.

I haven't seen much of Sproles during his NFL career but what I have seen he has looked very good. I know the guy was incredible at Kansas State.
