Sandbagging Strategy

Do any of you believe the Dallas Cowboys sandbagged the first half of the season? They seem like a different team the last 5 games?

The Eagles employed a similar strategy to win the Super Bowl last year - Foles looked like a joke, a shell of a broken man, and then ALL OF A SUDDEN he decided to get good.

Could Dak Prescott and Jason Garrett be employing a similar strategy along with Rod Marinelli, who for years has been responsible for one of the most laughingstock defenses in the NFL.

Allow the enemy to underestimate you, then lower the boom after the underdog status has been given to the team.
Now THIS is a bitter Commanders fan!
:laugh::lmao::lmao2:

This Commanders fan is trolling you guys.
I think some forgot who he is.
A serious answer is not required, as literally nobody is that dense to ask that question in seriousness.
That includes the OP

why sand bag? what was to be gained....it makes no sense at all
Teams rest players at the end of the year but no team is gonna sandbag at the beginning of the year
Some may at the end for draft picks or more unintentional by resting guys

We weren’t sandbagging - we were losing games because we couldn’t score 20+ points. Our WR’s scared no one. Our D had us in every loss, even the Titans game. It wasn’t until Amari showed up that it started clicking.

Cowboys deemed homefield advantage overrated. Thought it'd be better to tank the first half of the year and surprise teams down the stretch to earn a wildcard round game.

I heard of some early morning drinking. But this dude must have been binging for a week. :lmao:

but in the beginning of the year? this is NFL.. every game counts. specially early in the year....I doubt if any team tanks in the first 8 games of the sesaon

Only Gruden would be that dumb
Trading away your elite pass rusher and top receiver is pretty dumb though

Yeah for sure man. They were doggin it the first 8 games. This is a 16-0 team don't you know that.

Thinly veiled Dak/JG/Marinelli dislike, Nice try tho

I agree, but what we may not know is if Davis was involved. both Mack and Cooper would demand high dollars, top of the league dollars and he may have wanted to trade for cheaper alternatives. he is not known to really invest....Oakland is going the cinci route, barely staying above cap minimum

I don’t see bringing in a paying Gruden if you aren’t gonna involve him in those decisions
I agree that money was likely a part of decisions and I honestly get cooper trade
But an elite pass rusher is so rare
Rookies cost less and they have 3 first rnd picks so they may have a plan to try an make a run with the heart of your team on rookie contracts
I get the thinking there but I’d kept atleast the pass rusher to build around
I think they are thinking QB and dump Carr but not sure this is the year I go looking for a QB
