You cannot have the best RB, best RT, best guard, best center, one of the best LB and young QB sitting out and expect a clean game. This board is cracking me up that they expect to see no drop off with all these high salaries / high draft picks sitting on the sidelines.

Example: Looney did very well in place of Fredrick but he is not the same caliber, no one is. He's the best in the league so anyone else will be some drop off.

My point is everyone is on suicide watch because a bunch of backups played like crap. Do you really think the backups get tons of reps over the starters in practice? Do you want Dak, Zeke and the rest to not practice so we can "develop" our bench?

Get a grip people. The ineptitude of the offense means nothing last night. Most of those guys will never see the field in a real game.

We should be getting excited for the defense. No irving, woods or lee and we still looked pretty dominate IMO. If we run the ball (which we will) and played suffocating defense (which we should be able to), we will win a ton of games.

Please don't put a ton of concern in preseason games

Me personally, this game scared me because of how the back ups performed. If all our starters remain healthy, im not worried but these days, thats a big IF. I don't expect the backups to be probowlers but you have that fear that if one or two starters goes down, we're screwed.

It doesn’t give them a free pass to turn the ball over like they did.

It’s a preseason game. You’re making excuses for them like it was a regular season game.

I don't care if this team was a team of backups. They looked like something that fell out of the south end of a north bound bull. Even backups should be impressed on the importance of the ball and maintaining possession of it. I can maybe understand the ints. because our 2nd and 3rd string QB's aren't very good but seeing the int's shoulda motivated ball carriers to hang on to the ball better ... it's a first priority of ball possession.

Looks like coaching needs a good kick in the nads. A most unimpressive showing even if it was a practice game. I'm not ready to jump off a bridge but ****** our backups were way unprepared.

Nothing to see here folks. Only our depth looking bad against other team's depth.

Isn't "lack of talent" like the #1 excuse for why Garrett hasn't been able to be successful? Do you think we have improved our talent or do you think we will be in a world of hurt again when we have injuries (which will occur) or do you think our talent level is just fine and injuries will be no excuse for failure this year?

What it shows you is they have a head coach who has to have the best of the best on his roster, uninjured, in order to have half a chance at competing. The dude was clapping his butt off over a last second field goal. What the ^%&^ was he clapping for? Avoiding a shutout?

Garrett knows his job is safe no matter what and just doesn't care what the product on the field looks like. The play on the field is a reflection of his attitude.

yes, it's only preseason, no you don't expect to go blow out the other guys, mainly because, it's only preseason. But what was put on the field yesterday by the owner, FO and coaches was what we called a "piss, poor, performance" by anyone's standards. If these are the guys who some, not all be backing up our #1's, WE are in for a really, really piss, poor performance once the season starts, and we lose any more #1's. THAT is what this and the past preseason games have shown us.

Here in the Tri-State area , Damien Woody & Mike Golic & Trey Wingo read an email lamenting the Cowboys and their performance last night and they all said "Stop it!!!".............They were all equally impressed with JD Looney (especially Woody , a former center) and added that when you have half your offensive starters not playing , you can't expect much of anything.......Plus they were gushing over the Dallas defense..................

Everyone realizes these were backups playing but the attention to BALL SECURITY was HORRIFING and a reflection on our already questionable coaching staff especially special teams .
It would real suck to have the offense and defense play real good and miss the playoffs because special teams lost you a couple games .

Unnecessarily sloppy game . Very poor preparation , If I was Jerry I would be very embarrassed having that product on National TV Preseason or Not

The Ol is banged up. Those are the ones I am worried about. If we lose any of them for an extended period we are in trouble.

I don’t care about the score. I do care about the fact our backups did not compete yesterday.

Poor fundamentals, poor execution, no urgency... they looked like hot garbage— and that is on the coaching staff.

And we are going to be depending on some of these guys... WR and TE come specifically to mind. We need more from those units if we are going to be able to compete
