A 3rd for a player who can't stay healthy.

Peanuts for a player who can't catch the football

A 5th for a guy who can't stay out of trouble. How many issues has he had with drugs since college?

I'm good without any of those.

Awwww, come on. Boldin has so much more heart than Roy Williams. That guy is a baller

He also had 1,248 yards receiving last year and was a Superbowl MVP.

Stop tryin to act like he's not tight.

Holmes has acknowledged selling drugs on the street corner of his hometown of Belle Glade, Florida as a teenager; he says that his mother's influence and a desire to play professional football made him decide to stop.

Holmes was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida on May 27, 2006 for disorderly conduct.[9] Charges were subsequently dropped after Holmes paid a fine. Holmes was arrested for a second time on June 18, 2006 for domestic violence and assault in Columbus, Ohio.[10]

On July 7, 2006, Holmes appeared in Franklin County Court in Columbus, Ohio for both a pre-trial regarding the domestic case and hearing regarding the traffic ticket. He plead no contest to the traffic ticket and agreed to pay a fine. While Lashae Boone, the mother of Holmes' daughter and the victim in the assault case, requested that the domestic violence and assault charges be dropped, the prosecutor refused. Boone and their daughter accompanied Holmes to court. The charges were later dropped.[11]

On October 23, 2008, Holmes was arrested in Pittsburgh and cited by officers for possession of marijuana.[12][13] He released an apology after missing a game, stating that he wished to "focus all of [his] efforts on helping our team win on the field and achieve its ultimate goal."[14]

None of this is including his most recent assault charge or his most recent Weed incident on twitter.

FWIW, Steelers fans are absolutely irate and stunned over this deal.

A sampling of quotes from Steelersfever:

"u gotta be kidding me"
"A 5th round Pick, Are you kidding me?"
"You have got to be ****** kidding me."
"a 5th rounder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"*** for a 5th round???? holly ........"

And for Horns fans...

"At least we still have SWEEEEED."

If you want to complain about the Pats stealing Moss, that's one thing. None of these 3 are like that.

And a first and 3rd and 50 million for a WR that cant catch and doesn't require double teams.

Got it.

Dude, do you EVER have your own opinions.

3/4's of your posts on here is either "This" or "I agree" or "Yepp"

or my favorite.." "
Sure I do but if my opinion has already be stated before then why waste the time to write it out. I hated the Roy trade and especially since it hasn't worked out but there is nothing we can do about it now so why whine about these deals that are happening?

5th rounder.

I mean if you want to look at an NFL player posing nude in the shower, and hear about him getting in legal issues all the time, by all means. Not my cup of tea lol

I don't think anyone here is saying that he's not a screw-up, but how many 5th round picks end up being great players (or even servicable players)?

Jets just left the Steelers on the corner with their pants down. As a Cowboys fan, I take great pleasure in anything that goes wrong for the Steelers.

I'm in the camp that this isn't that huge a steal. He's in the last year of his deal, and the Steelers obviously weren't going to re-sign him because he has issues. So they get a 5th and the Jets get 12 games out of him. Now if they re-sign him, they got a better deal. But who knows if he gets busted for something new between now and then.

It just seems like the whole Roy thing made Jerry gun shy. I hope the trade didn't ruin him.

Would you rather trade a first and third for Roy Williams who is in the last year of his contract...or Santonio Holmes for a 5th rounder who is in the last year of his contract.

Orlando Scandrick.

He's at the very least serviceable. And at the most, a future starter.
