I think he runs weird too. But he has done very well running the way he does.

sapp, antonio pierce, hugh douglas, faulk...I HATE THEM ALL.
Pierce? That guy is higher on the Cowboys than anyone on EPSN. If he hadn't played for the Giants, I'd swear he was a Cowboys fan.

Sapp was an old veteran on the defensive side of ball. He has more than seen real life as well as film frames on topic. Murray has a unique style, but reminds me a lot of Calvin Hill. Hill's time in the NFL was limited by injury. An upright still that is additionally, very physical, can call into question injury factors. As it even did for a nimble Walter Payton. That is a hazard.

I don't begrudge Sapp pointing towards that fact. It is a relevant view...

Myself, I don't doubt the guts of a man. That is individual. Pain tolerance and function are dependent upon that person, and his acceptance of pain and performance. Pain will make a coward of the best athlete, but if one has a tremendous pain threshold, then there you go...but that part has to be played out.

I am looking at your signature, dboy. Crap. Has it been that long? It seems like a dream. Did that really happen? It's been too long since I've seen us hoist one of those, let alone play for one.

it's been too long my friend...

DeMarco runs perfectly fine. Actually, I hope he never changes how he runs because his vision, power, and speed are perfect. Sapp is clueless.

He's a tall back, 6''1'? He runs upright and he does have that gait that reminds one of Eric Dickerson. But the one thing he seems to have is good vision and knows how to read blocks. He could be a one hit wonder (Julius Jones), but only time will tell.

The only thing that Murray has in common with Eric Dickerson is the number 29.

Eric ran like a horse, he galloped, he was fluid, smooth, like silk. Murray is stiff, he has great vision, cutting ability, power, and he finishes off his runs when he needs to, and he has some speed, all that is great and the more I get use to watching him fun the more I am getting comfortable with him, I need to see him continue to produce before I am completely sold on him.

Murray does make me say, several times during games " That boy is running that ball", so he is winning me over with every game, just like Romo did, I was not sold on Romo in the begining, but he kept producing and now I am Romo's biggest supporter and critic, "That's My QB".

Murray runs as if he had a very bad knee injury, in which he never got back the full flexibility in his knee, if so I want him to get that knee scoped during the offseason and really work to get flexible, so that all his speed can come out so when he does break loose he can go ahead and outrun the defense. That if he had a knee injury, the way he runs makes me think he did.

But I was listening to a radio guy on our local sport show, he says he is not sold on Murray even after all that Murray has done at OU. Anyway he said that in high school Murray had that stiff running style and he did not like it then.

So maybe that is just how Murray runs, as long as he keeps running over, around and thru people, I'll be sold before long

I can't characterize Murray's running style, it seems that it is unorthodox. I just accept it for what it is, a breath of fresh air. A missing dimension from Jason Garrett's arsenal that should propel the team and Romo to even greater heights. Hell, other top Dallas QB's have had the benefit of a strong running game.....why not Romo. :D

I agree! Pierce is more than fair in his analogies of the Cowboys.
