No other receiver on the team approaches Dez's terrible catch %. Literally everybody on the team but Dez can catch Dak's passes just fine.

Code:
Player Tgt Rec Yds Y/R TD Ctch%
Dez Bryant 83 42 478 11.4 4 50.6%
Jason Witten 55 42 378 9.0 3 76.4%
Terrance Williams 44 31 366 11.8 0 70.5%
Brice Butler 16 10 243 24.3 2 62.5%
Ezekiel Elliott 26 19 210 11.1 2 73.1%
Cole Beasley 40 24 188 7.8 4 60.0%
Rod Smith 9 6 38 6.3 0 66.7%

You are confusing catch % with drops.

Catch % is a pretty useless stat.

83 targets, 42 receptions, 478 yards and 4 TDs in 9 games.

Impressive stats from the guy who has the #1 spot in base salary this year for wideouts. He's a real force.

It's because "we dont use him properly "

I wouldn’t mind taking a couple of those compensatory picks, Dez and a JAG and try and move in high into the draft for a highly rated Defensive player. (Not trading our 1st to be clear)

maybe the reasons for the losing is that this team overall is just not very good maybe the coaching is just not very good there are some good players on this team like most teams in the nfl but coaching makes a huge difference if you don't believe me just look at the rams until the coaches are changed its going to be this way

Dez is a one trick pony. All throughout his high school and college career, he a made a living on just being more physical and athletic than his defender. His route tree is very limited. He has stone hands. He has big issues getting separation off the line. Dez is only effective when you high point him the ball and just throw it up and let him go get it. But it takes time to learn that even as Romo said last week. You have to work on that for over a year to get it right because QBs as they grow up are taught not to throw the ball like that.

Dez is useless in this offense and I guess it will take time for the Dez homers to come around on this idea. Losing Dez would mean zero. This offense actually looked its most efficient last year when he wasn't in the lineup. He's not dependable. He does not take over a game and he does not help out his QB. Dak hasn't even played 2 years in this league. If we are complaining because Dak can't make Dez better instead of the other way around, then you might want to actually look at Dez for what he really is. Overrated and overpaid. And a loud mouth idiot when the ball is not being force fed to him. We could take his bloated salary and bring in 2 guys who actually know route trees and can catch. They might not make the SC Top 10 catches like Dez can but they can be more consistent.

Dez's act is so old around here. But people will keep making excuses for this clown in whatever way they can.

Everything is true but he is far from being the main issue.

Not when everyone else on the team is leaps and bounds above him.

Especially then. It's an absurd stat to look at. It should be ignored completely.

Drops is another story and is completely valid.

What routes are each receiver running? How is each receiver used? Are they open because Dez cleared out a defender?

It's well known that Dez is used as a decoy quite often and the routes he's called on to run aren't high percentage routes.

Perspective is something that is seldom used especially on this site.

It's funny how the two dump off targets are so high while every receiver is struggling. I mean 60% is nothing to be proud of in today's NFL. Maybe the playcaller and QB need to step up?

Dez is such a great decoy that the other team uses all 11 defenders on him. It is surpirsing we don't score more because of Dez' heroics.

A great deal of it is on Dez, a great deal of it is on the coaches, and the rest of it is on Dak just throwing it away because he’s run out of time in the pocket..

Huge fan of Dez but I must admit he hasn’t been the same since 2014....
