Manning: 15/29, 192 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT, 58.4 QB Rating.

Granted I'm sure the "realists" will descend upon this thread like flies on ****, if our offense is ever able to get out of its own way, and if we can sneak into the postseason, we'll be a tough out with the way this defense is playing.

Also, I don't ever want to hear someone tell me cornerbacks don't matter. That stat line is a direct testament to the upgrades made at the cornerback position.

Flame away.

Our cornerbacks let us come back to win. I'm very happy with their performance.

We've held an arguably future HoF to 399 yards in 2 games with HUGE weapons.

We have a good defense. Yet Eli still didn't turn the ball over 4 times. He never forces it like Romo does.

We have a great D.

Sadly the year that we do, our Offense decides to play hide and seek.

Cornerbacks crushed. Cruz controlled... again. And he's easily a top 3 wideout this year.

True. Defense played great.

Great post Cas! Our secondary is a strength and in this day and age of throwing the football we can beat any team any week if we don't turn the ball over. I truly belive that. This Defense is the best we have had here in a long, long time. This team last year had no chance of competing and no way to get off the field. It was a helpless feeling. This team has a different feel altogether.

The Clairborne pick is looking better and better all the time. That kid is going to be a star.

Bring on the Falcons - we might as well be the ones that end there undefeated season!

When you win 2 SBs, with one MVP, you become elite as a QB...

That's cuz he usually has someone WIDE open.

And not all 4 of those int's were on Romo.

The only one I'd say was Romo throwing a bad ball is the one to Austin (he was right to throw it to Austin, but bad placement).

On the dez throw Dez needs to get his body between the ball and the safety.

On the JPP int that was just an AMAZING play by JPP.

On the 4th down play he had to throw it somewhere, it was 4th freaking down.

Not saying Romo played great, but I think the biggest hinderance to our offense is our lack of being able to run the freaking ball consistently.

19 yards? I know we didn't run it much, but 19 yards on 17 carries is horrendous.

IF IF IF...problem is with this current outfit, that will never happen.

But i do agree with your view on our CB play. Much improved.

I was pessimistic about our defense due to the lack of plays they faced. BUT today changed my mind. I'm sold. Even with the injuries this unit looks solid. If we can somehow keep the offense from committing 3 turnovers a game, we'll be in great shape...

We have the D to compete

but we do not have the O line or Play Calling

And its clear Romo is in a real slump compared to Last Year

So sadly we can keep it close but that is all

Our defence played great and hassled Manning into a bad day. Full credit, I was thrilled with our defence.

Not sure what you're trying to argue here though: If you think Manning is an elite QB (as I do), then you've got to be thrilled with today's performance. If you don't think Manning is elite (the implication here), then why is today's performance such a big deal (if all we did was hold an average QB to a below average day)?

Most Cowboys fans can't see the big picture. This thread is proof. There isn't a New York Giant who cares about anything aside from their team leaving Cowboys stadium with another W.

^^^^^^^^ :starspin

I don't care who you are. If you are unbalanced, and you can't sustain drives because you have no confidence that you can pick up a first down on 2nd and 4 by running the ball, you're going to lose more often than not.

We have to eliminate turnovers. All four of our losses have resulted in us spotting the other team at least a touchdown:

@ Seattle: fumbled kickoff - 3 points. Punt block - 7 points = 10 pts.
vs. Chicago: pick six - 7 points. INT - 3 points. Fumble - 3 points = 13 pts.
@ Baltimore: kickoff return - 7 points = 7 pts.
vs. NY Giants: pick six - 7 points, all 5 other turnovers - field goals = 23 pts.

When you spot the other team points, you're not going to win more than you lose. So far, in games where we haven't spotted them points, we won. In games where we did, we've lost.
