Sarcasm: This loss is on Romo

Why does it always have to be either or? Romo was terrible, the game plan was terrible and the entire defense was terrible.

Agreed. The loss isn't "on Romo", but he certainly played a significant part. The performance of our passing game and offense overall was absolutely atrocious, and you're expecting more from them when you consider all the injuries the defense has sustained.

It would not have mattered who our QB was. The Saints were about 6th in passer rating allowed coming into the game and also allow very few yards passing. Your average QB against the saints has a rating of roughly 75 this year.

People thought this was the same Saints defence of years passed and it wasn't. The saints had 26 sacks coming into the game and we had 23. The difference is that the Saints have linebackers, safties and corners who can cover. That is what allows them to put up the excellent defensive numbers.

There is no QB who is going to score a TD every drive against that defence. Unlike us they are fielding one that is competent. That's what would have been required to win that game. Tony will be the first to admit it wasn't his best game but the only people who will stick this on Tony are the ones who stick everything on Tony.

Romo is not 'the' problem. But he's certainly not playing very well either.

--He's missed more open guys this year than I can remember.
--Bad pre-snap reads
--Very, very skittish. He's ducking and throwing at the same time. This is probably my biggest issue.

Sorry, but I will continue to put him at the bottom of our "problems" with such a poorly coached offensive team. Any game where a pass to run ratio of 54 to 9 despite winning tells me something is seriously wrong with the coaching, period.

The defense sucked and so did Tony Romo and the offense. NO excuse for them putting up a record amount of 3 and outs.

If he had just completed some of his passes that fell incomplete, especially in the first half, the Cowboys would have won this game easily.

(This thread is sarcasm, just so everyone knows, but I wouldn't be surprised if some people actually think this defeat is Romo's fault.)
He had 20 yards passing in the first half.. this defense is pitiful. but make no mistake, Romo will never win anything here.

NOBODY is sticking this only on Romo but he CERTAINLY played a role in the pathetic offense tonight.

You can joke about it, but he has not played very well lately. 0 for 9 on third down is a big problem.

I see the Romo apologists are now just trying to be sarcastic.......He did suck eggs just like everyone else though.....and THAT is not sarcastic. He is our 100 million dollar man so he gets a lof of the blame on the offensive side...

We had a bad gameplan. It seems we were predicated on going heavy on run and when we had to play catch up there was no avenue for the passin game.

I don't see why anyone is defending Romo. He hasn't looked good all year honestly. Watch his intermediate to deep throws he throws a lot of inaccurate flutter balls. Worst I've ever seen from him. Even in the Denver game he threw flutter balls. He never hits anyone down field in stride deep anymore. The players usually have to adjust their route or slow down which causes them to be caught. Compare that to Stafford, Brees or Manning who consistently hit their man in stride.

That's not on Romo that he had only 20 yards passing. Romo was 2-6 in the entire first half. We came out to start the game and just ran, ran, ran and punted. Garret listened WAY TOO MUCH to the media bigots about run 'balance'. No QB can get rhythm when you run, run, run, punt, run, pass, run, punt, run, run, run, ect; Not going to happen.

Horrible game from everyone though.

Really tired of these people still defending Romo. Yes, this defense is so bad that we would have lost tonight even if Romo played the way he did against the Broncos. But we've also lost games this season where the defense wasn't THAT bad and we would have won if Romo played well. If Romo was an elite QB, we could have won the Chiefs game and Chargers game and maybe the Broncos game (the INT). I can't defend Romo anymore. I don't know if he's any good. I might take 15-20 QBs over him right now.

Yea, the gameplan should have taken into account that we let up a score everytime their offense gets the ball.
