Currently I have digital phone from Time Warner and was wondering if this will impact my ability to use/get satellite TV? I would not think it would but I wanted to check on that before I moved further in the process. Anybody know?

Oh.. when I say digital phone I'm referring to VOIP. Time Warner calls it digital phone service.

The only thing I could see it affecting is your ability to buy Pay Per View movies. The purchase requests are sent up to your Sat provider via the phone line, and if your VOIP is not able to mimic that, you won't be able to get them.

I have comcast high speed internet and their phone service. I’ve kept my directtv, had to if I want to watch the Cowboys. The phone line doesn’t effect my internet connection at all, I’m very satisfied with it. I haven’t had any trouble with my satellite T.V., everything works very well. Wish I would have changed phone service much sooner.

Directv will tell you that you have to be connected to a phone but it's not true. They did however tell me that a DVR has to have a phone connection.
