1st round (9) - Trade for (16) and (48)
1st round (16) - Trade for (24) and (56)
1st round (24) - Trade for (32) and (64)

Five Offensive lineman drafted with first 6 selections sounds crazy, but we need it.
Koiser is FA and who knows if his price tag fits our value of him. Davis isn't worth his contract and I think he's history. Of course Columbo is gone.
Thank god Free never got dinged. Exactly who did the 2010 Cowboys have as a reserve LT?

1st round (32)- RT Carmini 6-7 327......Prototype RT. Best shot to start day one.
2nd round (41)- FS Moore 6-1 196......Ball Hawk who could start day one.
2nd round (48)- OG/LT Ijalana 6-4 320.....Could be our best reserve LT day one and that's a need. Will compete for a starting OG spot.
2nd round (56)- OT/OG Love 6-5 315.....Another versital guy who played RT, RG and LG. Could legitimately compete to start at start RT or either OG spot.
2nd round (64)- OC/OG Hudson 6-2 284......We need a future OC and a quality 2011 OC reserve. Do we know Costa's that guy?
3rd round (73)- OG Cannon 6-5 350.... Pure OG with massive size. Makes sense for us with the first guys taken since none are a pure OG and none have great OG size.
4th round (105)- DT Ellis 6-5 340..... Don't know what the off the field stuff is. But these are the best type of 3rd day selections. The guy has 1st rd talent. You give him a short leash. He stays on the right path, awesome. If not, what have you lost?
5th round (137)- ILB
6th round (169)- WR
7th round (210)- RB

We have a top ten pick. In my opinion, you do not trade down with this pick. You get the best defensive player you can get with this pick. I really believe we will have the pick of the litter at the top of the second round with offensive lineman. I love the tackle from Wisconsin, Carimi. I think you can plug him in at RT and he can start for 10 years. But this team has an awful record of failure in trade down scenarios for the current year picks. We should not be in this position next season barring injury.

You have to stay at nine unless New England wants to trade both of their #1's to move up.

You would hope we're not drafting this high again for a long time. And with that thought I can see why fans wouldn't want to trade down. Get that top prospect you can so seldom get when you have the chance.

I take a little different approach. I only want top 10 picks uses on key positions..........QB, RB, OLB, WR, CB, maybe NT, maybe LOT.

Those are the spots were a true All-Pro type player has the greatest impact and are of most use. If I could have as many as seven All-Pros, that's exactly where I'd want them to play.
Give me a 8th, 9th and 10th and I'd probably want another WR, CB and OLB.

TE, most OL, FB, 3-4DE, 3-4ILB and S are positions where a true All-Pro has less impact.

And obviously the goal with a top 10 pick is to secure an All-Pro caliber player.

Now when I look over the Cowboys to find needs, I'm seeing ROT, OGs, OC, DE, Ss and maybe ILB. None of the spots I'd normally want to use a top 10 pick.

And since we appear to have multiple needs, why not drop down to the bottom of RD One and pick up multiple premium picks in RD Two.

Hostile,

If the Cowboys do take Peterson as a CB, Newman may very well be gone. There are some people at Valley Ranch ready to panic. I wonder if it is all the people who blamed iOwens' and Roy E.'s failures on Romo. I think the big Scandrick clan there isn't big on Newman any way and have been looking to get rid of him for a while. JMO

I'm wanting Tyron Smith like you want Peterson. I'm starting to think Peterson might be there at 9 unless a team really falls in love with his athletic ability, which could very well happen. I just don't see Eric Berry or Champ Baily with him. Berry is the superior football player between the two, and I don't think it's close. Ironically, Chavis chose to play Berry at safety when he could have easily played CB, and Chavis didn't move Peterson to safety when he got to LSU.

I think Peterson is risky taking in the top 10 now after I read SDOGO's article. Someone will most likely take him in the top 10, though. I guess you could say the same thing about Smith, but I bet he puts on some weight and wows scouts with his pass protection drills and is in the hunt at number 9. He is a great run blocker, too. Is that guy the next D'Brickashaw Ferguson at LT? Where would he go in the 2012 draft, all things being equal? If a done Marc Colombo can start, this guy can start at RT in Dallas before he supplants Free at LT.

I like your 2nd and 3rd round picks.

If TNEW gets the boot, you are going to have to change me to 28 Joker, but I will always be a big Newman fan and will follow him if he goes to another team. He will go to a team that thinks they are close to winning it if he leaves, imo.

The rush really dropped off big time, and the safety play was more than erratic. I think both CBs need better players inside the football field, up front and in the secondary.

Not sure where you are getting the idea that anyone at Valley Ranch is fed up with Newman. He is one of the most respected players on the team.

I would love it if this turned out to be our draft class only thing i'd wish for is a OG in there somewhere

Rounds 1 and 2 would be a dream come true if these where our picks

How popular is football in Norway?

The league here has tripled in size since i played in the 90s so i guess it's a growing sport but the average person on the street couldn't tell you who's in the SB

I seriously think at #9 we're going to stand pat, and take Peterson, Amukamara, or Harris in that order.

I like Tyron Smith too, but he isn't ready for the NFL. It would be hard to draft him with the 9th overall pick and then let him sit for a year or two because he isn't ready.

That said, I think he is going to be a good player. If he falls into the second round, I move up and get him.

Harris at #9 would be pretty foolish.
