Career decisions being made.
Just take a look at starting vets on this team making the decision to check out as soon as irrelevance becomes present.
Not saying I blame them, but this just shows how much it's all about self-preservation, sustainability, the game has changed drastically over the past 3 decades.
The days of seeing Emmitt Smith type of performance vs the Giants with a separated shoulder are over, and Im just using that as an example, its not just the Boys, its league wide and why this game just seems so soft to this long timer.
This game has become all about the money, there is no gladiator concept left in this game and it's not just the Cowboys other teams as well, but the Cowboys lead the pack on checking out as soon as they see the mathematical elimination.

If you could only feel what they feel and call them soft.

Absolutely correct.
However, a large portion of this fanbase wants to draft a WR in the 1st round or sign a high dollar FA. I read post, and it sounds like the ppl have judge that's why I said it's been established.
Agreed. Even if a top rated receiver is available when the Cowboys draft it would be much smarter to draft a different position and hope the guy the Panthers gave up on is actually a serviceable receiver.

Mingo is under contract for 2 more years, and because Jerry made the decision to trade for him. (Dumb-***).
He is not being released or cut.
He has not done a thing so far so it does not look like a good trade, and he's bought in for Cooks and that will be it.
Not impressed, he seems to be showing the same lack of effort/commitment as he did with the Panthers.
All eyes will be on him come training camp and I'm not expecting anything, which is a shame cause he has the size and speed to be a good receiver.
Just another waste of a 4th round trade.
Disclaimer - I'm more pissed at Jerry than I am at Mingo, he is what he is on a second chance.
Jerry is a delusional buffoon.

His career performance with Carolina? Jebus. And no I wouldn't install him as WR2 or WR3. He has to earn it.
He is a possession receiver with a career competition % under 50. Thats very bad no matter where. If you want to write it off believe sprinkling Cowboy Dust™ on him is gonna make him viable, thats on you

I'm not writing him off or writing him on anything. I'm just posting what the Cowboys think and feel. He deserves a chance to prove what he can and can't do next summer. After a full off season and not just thrown into the mess of what our offense is. He is more of a downfield WR and playing with a dink and dunk QB like Rush is a bad mix.

Where did you get that from? I championed him during the draft in 2023 and at no point was he viewed as a downfield WR in the NFL. He was alway evaluated as a drag route and slant route bull dog type WR. I dont think this is a player you know well

Really really weird take, so much so that I believe if we got down to the nitty gritty you would be labeled a hypocrit and a contradiction. But, we can't get down to it because this board prefers your posts and I will most likely get banned.

Wanting to see guys play a taxing sport in a barbarian way for your own pleasure, and if they don't...they are soft and don't deserve their pay is not fair and not intelligent.

I know you don't care...it's just sad to live like that

Mingo has had one? They rarely go his way.
C'mon TMC he's had a chance in CAR and has been targeted in Dallas, problem is Bro isn't getting separation. However, Rush has missed him a few times. My guy JMC hasn't even been targeted in the league, so from that perspective Mingo has had plenty opportunity. Hope Mingo balls out to and save a draft pick or validates that 4th.

What are they doing? They know I want to evaluate Jalen Moreno-Cropper, Mingo is trash...that's established already.
I'm pretty sure they're doing what they want to do with their team kind of pointless for a fan to say what's established and what's not what you want doesn't matter but hey go put one of them dudes on your fantasy football team.. lol maybe you'll find him in some cheap Madden game you can build your own team that way.....

Now what we need to see is a steady dose of Rico and you elevate Brandon cooks and Turpin and get them as many touches and then it goes to your tight ends I don't see where these dudes matter in the first place I mean how many snaps you think the eagles are going to give us in the passing game we shouldn't even be trying to throw the ball if you're trying to get balls take someone who you think is trash and somebody else who hasn't played all year there's not enough balls to go around....

I'd like to see our tight ends have a great day along with our run game and again we have two receiving threats I'm not sure what tolbert's going to do with a bad finger,

so run run run a lot of 12 and 13 personnel a lot of tight ends and try to take the top off with Brandon cooks and Turpin that would be what I would do...

Who is our second starting corner? Kemon Hall?

They didn't bring up Booth, which is OK because he's not very good. Maybe we're going to start Pride? Man, we've had way too much bad luck at corner this year. Not sure any team could have weathered the amount of injuries we've had there -- Bland, Diggs, Carson, Butler, Oruwariye, even Lewis has missed time.
Jlew and Bland but outside 2, who knows.. Does it really matter I believe the eagles are gonna run the ball a lot they're gonna try to get Barkley the record today and if I'm the Dallas Cowboys defense if you really want pride Mike Zimmer needs to run up about everybody they can up to the line and the one thing they can't do today is allow saquon Barkley to get over the yards because he needs 162 to get to 2000 he needs like I don't know 260 to break the record we do not want that to happen against us so my goal today would be to stop say Quan Barkley at all costs I don't care what the backup quarterback and their receivers do to us today you cannot allow to celebrate against us any records..

Let him do that against his old team so I don't think they're gonna throw the ball as much as you think because that would probably be their main concern cause saquon Barkley if he can run for 160 to 250 yards they're probably gonna win the game so we gotta stop the run...
