He was actually stepping up into the pocket and not getting spooked so easily by the rush. He put faith in his OL to block and his receivers to catch and trusted his instincts and training.

Something tells me that before this week he's been told to not run the ball which is his safety blanket. If he feels like he can't utilize that, then he gets the jitters and is over-experiencing the pass rush.

Let Dak Do Dak Things.

Just like Witten was Romo's safety valve, Dak's legs and running ability make him feel safe and play with confidence, knowing he has that available to fix his situation.

It has been seen in all three wins. When we throw on first down, speed up the tempo, spread out the defense, and use the threat of Dak running the offense works. In the losses we ran on first down, got stuffed, were always behind the chains, and faced third and long all game. Let Dak be Dak and things are fine.

This showed on the ?2nd? (to the right) Beasley TD. Not abandoning the pocket and keeping his eyes downfield, he gave Beasley a chance to get open enough.

though there was a play where Dak abandoned the pocket quick on a play where Zeke ended up getting WIDE open.

He got spooked a few times. On the moderately deep throw to Beasley you could tell he was feeling the phantom pressure and was about to flee the pocket then saw Cole at the last moment and uncorked a horrible pass that Beasley had to stop and wait on to catch. Luckily he was so wide open it didn’t matter. But overall I thought Dak was much better in the pocket today.

yes but we do not know whether it was the ol doing better

Yup. I think people are worried about injury but damn. This is his game style. This is how he plays.

Dude is 6'2, 240. He's not RG3. He is built like a tank and runs well. Let him utilize his entire skillset and stop handicapping him.
Plus I think later on in his career he should be a better passer by then and probably will be a better pocket passer. But as of now?He can take the licks and let him take it.

Didn't see it, sorry buddy. And actually I've not been posting very actively in the past few years, not sure how I "do this all the time".

If I could give you the likes, I'd give them all to you. I don't care about them at all. I didn't see a thread talking about this.

If the mods wanna merge mine into yours, that's totally cool with me. /shrug

Hope you have a good night!

I said the same thing that I believe he’s being told directly not to be mobile or a dual threat. I wonder what theyre goin to tell him their week with 1st place and division game on the line.

Eventually teams will scheme to contain Dak's scramble with a spy and he'll have to beat teams from the pocket again and we have seen how well that works. He has to be comfortable when that happens too.
