I ran into Romo at the Fieldhouse a couple nights ago and we played HORSE on the court for a couple of minutes. Had to quit after H-O, though, because Tony was so out of breath.

It was hard for him to follow me around the court because he has a fat *** and an iron lung. True story. Nice guy, though. He fixed my flat tire out in the parking lot.

Fail.

Can't be a FAIL if I'm chuckling to myself over here. I drop these gems for my own benefit.

You can take that one and use it if you want to, though. Drop it at the Appleby's bar after work tonight and high-five all your buddies. Get a free round of drinks on me.

:D

are u kidding?

I think I agree with the risk of injury. Its not any greater from playing basketball now than 30 years ago, but there is a lot more at stake for the organization.

I am sure the players, at least the really big money guys, insure themselves somehow ie Lloyds of London, but if they get hurt in the offseason doing something like this the team suffers.

You can stay active without playing basketball and trying to show off what a fantastic all-around athlete you are.

I had a chance to run a few w/ TO a couple of years ago at the Premier Club. He had a couple of tomahawk jams.

I hear Tony could hoop pretty well in HS. I'm sure he only goes about 1/2 - 3/4 speed...b/c boy would he feel like an idiot if he wrecked his ankle playing pickup hoops.

It's hilarious that people say stuff like "Tony was huffing and puffing on the court, so he must be out of shape."

What morons.

Watch old Jordan footage. Or Kobe. Or whomever in the NBA. They all huff and puff because Basketball is physically taxing.

I even heard a rumor that Jordan once broke into a sweat! OMG! What a fat ***!

:laugh2: I was gonna say, pretty much every bball player huffs and puffs at some point.

Nobody should be shocked that Tony plays a lot of ball. He was like #2 in the Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin to Curon (sp?) Butler when he was a senior in high school if I'm not mistaken, so I'm sure he's got loads of talent.

I've seen the old Cowboys "Hoopsters" play several times over the years.

Some of them were outstanding players:

Michael Irvin -- Probably the best Cowboys player I saw. Didn't play like a lot of football players -- stiff and mechanical. He was very fluid and outstanding in the paint (using his body for positioning).

Michael Downs -- Could leap, and like Irvin, lean and fluid with a basketball player's body. Good dunker.

Everson Walls -- Best hand-eye coordination I've ever seen. It was more subtle on the football field, but on the basketball court it really stood out. Not the best athlete, but his reactions were incredible. Great defender.

Drew Pearson -- Finesse player who was very fluid and loose.

Tony Hill -- Good shooter ... who loves to shoot.

Ed Jones -- Naturally he was unstoppable inside while playing against the local firemen or cops.

Billy Joe Dupree -- You could tell he had played a lot of basketball (at Michigan State). Tough in the paint.

Tony Dorsett -- He played more like a football player. Much thicker in a basketball uniform than he looks on TV playing football. Short, quick bursts, but had trouble handling the ball.

Aikman, etc... these guys ALWAYS play in these charity events here in Phoenix, not only Cowboys...

It's good to know that Jessica is a chubby chaser. That fact greatly increases the chance most of this board would have with her.

HOW DARE YOU! Michael Jordan never took a deep breath once, or sweat once, in his entire NBA career. You take that back right now!!!

LOL! That's the best thing that's come out of this thread.

Some dude e-mailed the Musers on KTCK the last few days. Junior read his e-mail to effect that this guy balled with Tony last year at a rec center and that this guy was shocked that Tony was huffing and puffing his way up the court.

To add that this anonymous dude remarked that his boys at the rec center were in better basketball shape than Tony, which was the thing that stood out to him. Yeah everybody huffs and puffs, Tony was doing more of it and fighting it, per this dude.

Since I don't know any of the people involved, and I'm going on memory to boot, I think I'll shut up now! ... The above isn't good reporting, but then this board isn't the New York Times either.

I once saw T.O. breathe heavily on his way back to the huddle after running a nine.

True story.

So, I guess we're past the whole leadership thing and onto the next item on the list of Tony being a fat ***?

I love the offseason.

Slanderous rumors are allowed on this board!

Otherwise all we would have to read would be JJT in the DMN, and other dreck. Randy Galloway and other professional opiners would be all we have, like in the old days.

BTW, everybody seen the (creditable) news on Dirk's girlfriend just posted on Dallas Morning News? She has three kids already, and abandoned them all. OK, I'm out, sorry if I offended anybody, you too, JJT.

I'd pin his weak stuff on the backboard and then holla at Jess. Overweight 2 guards are easy to play against.

He's the point. And he would take you to the hole, dish and the guy coming in front the baseline would posterize you as your chasing behind Romo.

I would pay $6,000,000 for that on video.

:lmao:
