Hiring a DC is fine if he hires a strong OC. This league is about outscoring your opponents. Overlooking or taking that lightly will lead to a bunch of L's.
The problem with that is good OCs are hot HC commodities. So you have a good season and get your OC sniped. That is why I am in favor of a good OC candidate for HC.

No one cares about your niche "Im going young OC as HC, as to prolong the relationship between my QB and OC minded HC"

No one cares.

This space, space time, has no set rules to allow you to win. Why keep wasting time talking about this sheeeet when the world zigs when you zag?

Its beyond played out. There are no niches to find, posters.

Wrong. But I will say that if your head coach spends much of his time on 1 side of the ball you really need to make sure you have equally strong or stronger coaches on the other side. The stronger your coordinators are the better your head coach can help oversee the whole operation.

Offensive head coaches have worked out so well here…..

Time to go defense and rely on that group to set the tone.
We've had hard playing defenses lately. The run game defense doesn't mean the defense wasn't tackling hard or trying hard. I think our defense has been one of the harder playing ones despite the team stats

that’s because we put crap players on the field. if we had better scouting on that side of the ball we would be better on defense.

That’s why I want more focus on the defense, take it up another level or two.

Define something. Don't just say take it up.

You are suggesting scrubs or not well coached guys can still mall.

I'm saying these guys are team tackling hard regardless of scrubs.

What does a coach add to that? What does a few drafted/undrafted guys do? I think the culture is fine as far as effort and tackling....but I can't say who the ring leaders are. DLaw seems to be the man amongst boys in the Sounds from the Sidelines...but idiot bots want to ruin his name around here.

The defensive culture is fine...probably by draw, Lewis, Micah, overshown, bland, and the hard hitting safety(hate I forget his name when he deserves jersey sales)....

Nothing is wrong with the culture at all...these guys play and hit and team tackle well.

Salah might take it to another level...but these guys are fine as a unit overall, as far as calling them soft...it's bs.

BS. We have gotten worked way too many times to make that claim. Trying hard is a participation trophy.

guess what? Scrubs tackling hard do not win championships. This is the same old excuse Jethro uses about playing hard and moral victories and STAYING RELEVANT.

Landry was a defensive guy. He turned out ok. So was Belichick. I think a HC is like any other guy at the top. He needs to surround himself with good coaches and players.

Where did I call them soft?

I like the unit but add in a legit DT, linebacker or two and a safety. That will take it up a level or two. This team needs to lead by defense, the offense might be a lost cause due to a deteriorating QB.

Cowboys need a leader. That's more important than offense or defense. Saleh is a much. better choice than Moore. I'd prefer guys like Ben Johnson and Kubiak but at the same time I think Saleh can lead men if allowed to. Aaron Rodgers killed that for him.
Agree TMC....Saleh is solid IMO. He not only had crazy Rodgers to deal with but also a clueless owner in Johnson. Like Saleh a lot.

Put a good OC with him and he could. He didn’t have that at the jets and it cost him. The key with him is finding that OC

Good DC’s also get sniped. I do think it can be more difficult to replace a good OC potentially however.
