So I just wanted to know what happened on the last play in the Super Bowl.

Michael's said, "they reviewed it up stairs, its a fumble, turn over".

I for one say that was an incomplete pass, plus the personal foul on Pitt.

By my recollection, AZ gets the ball on the 35 of Pitt with 6 or so seconds left.

BTW, I'm not saying that they would have scored or anything, but they should have gotten the chance. And also, after the holding call against in the end zone, I feel a bit better about saying they weren't handed the SB.

Apparently, it wasnt worth it to check. Even though it looked 50/50 at worst. And the hold in the end zone was blatant.

How many challanges did Tomlin use? And Whisenhunt?(And he could of challanged a lot more plays...)

I still don't buy that the play was reviewed by officials, at least not at that moment.

They may have reviewed it after the fact, but that doesn't excuse not stopping play and making sure the call was accurate.

Less than 30 seconds after the play was over Pittsburgh is kneeling the ball. I've never seen an NFL play be reviewed that quickly.

They should have went upstairs to review it. It is the SB for god's sake!

There is no way that play was reviewed. Reviews must be done by the on-field Referee, anyways...that sure didn't happen. It is amazing how the lack of review of a play that certainly should have been reviewed, by anyone's standards, got swept under the rug. No comment from the NFL...nothing from anyone. Completely and utterly amazing! I have never been one to claim any game was fixed or that the officials swayed the course of a game by design, but incidents such as this leaves the NFL wide open for such allegations. Complete idiocy on their part. Not just for the lack of review, but for obviously sweeping it under the rug and refusing to even bring it up after the fact. VERY POOR job Mr. Goodell!
BTW, I have been a fan for 45 years and the NFLis, in many ways, in the worst shape ever. I know its popularity is at an all time high, but that popularity is going to erode pretty quickly IMHO. Speaking only for myself, I care less about the game today than at any point in my life.

It was obvious that the play was a fumble and not an incomplete pass. There was no need for a replay. The infidel Cardinals were not going to win the game. Allah was on the side of the Steelers that night.
Also Holmes did not use the ball as a prop for his end zone celebration which would have given the infidel Cardinals better field position on the ensuing kickoff.

Michael's said, "they reviewed it up stairs, its a fumble, turn over".
Someone tell Al that the NFL is not college football.

I have a problem with how fast the ref ran into the endzone to call Holmes' catch a TD. When's the last time refs didn't at least look at each other before signaling on a play that close? Seems Fred Swearingen Jr. wanted to make sure the call on the field was a TD.

plays get reviewed even in the preseason

you mean to tell me that the last play of the biggest game of the year with 5 seconds left you can not take the time to review the play offically let the guys on the field have another look?

come on

the NFL wants to set up the steelers as the face of the NFL... Rooneys good guys lovable steelers players...

yet MVP arrested earlier in season for weed in his car yet NFL never suspends him. James Harrsion slapped his wife arrested no suspension.. COME ON....
come on that oline was AWFUL... please

I agree.

That was a very strange sequence of events and a bogus call, if you ask me. His hand was going forward. That was an incomplete pass.

And what makes it even worse is that I think everyone wanted to see if Larry Fitzgerald could outjump the Steelers defenders to make a spectacular game-winning catch.

I'm not going to blame the refs for the Steelers victory. The Steelers deserved the win. But that play definitely needed a review at the least, and the Cardinals deserved on last shot, at the most.

Well, if you believe Burger King, the play was reviewed. They just didn't do a good job of explaining this to the folks at home. Anyway, it appeared to me that the call on the field was correct.

They still should have taken the time to review it correctly IMO. If Pitt was up by more than a TD then I could understand not reviewing it.

Te announcing crew even said it was reviewed, but there is no way they had enough time to properly review that play. NO WAY!

His arm was certainly coming forward. His arm was hit before it started coming forward, but the ball never moved or shifted until after his arm started coming forward.

I think if it had been reviewed they'd have had to overturn the call and call it an Incomplete pass. It was pretty clear that it was. That said I'm really not as upset about rather they would have done that as I am about the fact that they didn't even bother to stop the game and have it officially reviewed.

That was just a piss poor job on the part of the people in the booth to no buzz down and tell the referee to take a good, long, look at that last play and be certain.

Yep, that is what I saw too.

looked like a fumble to be, in the replay you can see the ball get knocked and start moving out of his grip before he pushes his hand forward but live, I thought the same thing as everyone else.
