So you're not?

That one doesn't think the Cowboys will make the Super Bowl is a different thing than saying they don't have a legitimate chance.

They have a legitimate chance. Let's get real. The Super Bowl isn't always about being the best team. There's some luck involved, in fact, most of the time for most teams. It's actually fairly common that a team that was merely considered to have a good shot at the playoffs has ended up finding their way into the grand finale.

(We all know this. Why we feel we have to word wrestle in order to claim some meaningless superiority in some corner of the internet is, if you think about it, strange.)

Best avatar ever.....Go Dodgers!!!

Not about affinity for a team (LAD, NYY or otherwise), but just sheer disgust against a team.

Win with integrity, or why bother. Shortcuts to a trophy are sins against the game. And real repentance isn't mumbling some words in a spring training presser, but giving back the stolen goods that your thieves stole... in this case, a trophy and some jewelry.

"Will never happen."
True, it won't... because there's never been a professional sports owner so comfortable with the low road as Jim Crane. Buck stops with him. And it's not like we're talking about a hands-off owner--he's always been involved with his team about like Mark Cuban is involved with his.

"But what about other teams who cheated?"
Justice should be done, of course. But if it's an Asterisks fan saying those words, they fool themselves to think they can deflect attention. It's only those of us who are fans of other teams who can legitimately raise that issue, not any of them. It's like this. If your family member caused a wreck b/c he was drunk, your cry "Yeah, but what about all the others who drove while drunk and didn't get caught?" doesn't register. No one cares because you have no legitimate standing to talk about it. Whataboutism rule #1, you have to acknowledge and be repulsed by your own sins before you can go after someone else. But moreover, there's an added gravity to the situation to the degree that your team had success... if your shortcut actually helped get you to your goal. That's why the 2017 Houston baseball franchise will always merit a special kind of disgust.

But I/we digress............................................................

Game 5....they only missed making contact with ONE Kershaw breaking ball. Should NEVER been allowed to keep the trophy much less keeping it without an asterick in every record book.

Manfred? Nah. More like Eunuch-fred.

I'd like to think that any owner of any team I support, though, would choose the right thing himself in that situation. It sounds dramatic only because people decided integrity doesn't matter, when the whole damn idea of professional sports is the pursuit of a trophy... that's the entire point... and when you actively choose to disregard what is fair in the pursuit of that goal, you're defecating on the pursuit of that goal as being a worthy goal, and defecating on your peers in the game, having reduced the contest from who is the best to who is the best at figuring out a shortcut to appear to be the best.

Slim-y Jim Crane got away with it.

How I wish LAD would have gotten ferocious enough to actually attempt a civil court case against HOU and MLB. Then maybe justice would have stood a chance.

You take the Cowboys and I'll take the field.

If the Cowboys make the Super Bowl I delete my account and if any other NFC team makes it instead you delete yours.

Come on. Show us how much you really believe. If you're not willing to do this then you clearly hate the Cowboys.
Uh..No. You clearly hate the Cowboys because you barely have anything nice to say about the organization or it's players.

I get what you're saying, but are you putting money on them since they have a legitimate chance and you could win some $$$$?

You don't believe in the Cowboys enough to take the bet?

You clearly hate the Cowboys then.
That is the craziest assessment anyone on this site as ever heard. Besides I don't gamble. And even if I did, I would not have taken that bet after the 13-3 season of 2016. So your stance is just preposterous.

We're not gambling for money.

My account against yours.

Come on. Show us how much you really believe in the Cowboys.... or is it all fake and you secretly hate the Cowboys instead?

1. I've not even as much as bought a single lottery ticket in my entire life. Maybe a raffle ticket at some point, but I considered it a donation I'm sure.

2. I would not hesitate, with the right odds, to put $100 on the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl... that's the whole idea of odds, after all... bigger risk, bigger reward.

3. Like virtually anyone else trying to assess it objectively, I don't consider the Cowboys the favorite. I do consider the Cowboys to have a legitimate chance... and certainly, certainly a more legitimate chance than the Bengals this time last year seemed to have. (Our offensive line questions are nothing today like theirs was a year ago... indeed, they struggled with that even into the post season.) I'm really bullish on our defense.
