SBN: Five late-game sequences that doomed the 2019 Cowboys

No doubt the Defense and ST's crapped the bed in some of the losses but why cant some admit the offense cost us at least 3 games.

10, 9 and 9 points scored against Saints, Patriots and Eagles in which the Defense played lights out and gave us a chance to win.

Unless of course next season schedule has us playing against strictly losing teams with horrid defenses. Keep it on the 100

So basically we were a great offense when it didn't matter or agaisnt horrible teams(for the most part) and **** the bed when it really mattered

Why looking at stats purely doesnt mean **** most of the time.

You might be right overall but I disagree for the last Eagles game specifically. Zeke only got 13 carries that game (5 at halftime) and when I ran the numbers previously (can't recall exactly) I think Zeke's last 6 rushes averaged more than 6 ypc but we didn't keep running him. Yet Dak puts up 44 passes and we muster 9 points. Wentz put up 40 passes (helluva lot better completion percentage) and they still got their backs the ball 24 times. So add in dumb decision-making and inability to see trends in real time.

Oh yeah, no doubt. That dum decision making went both ways, including stubbornly running against brick walls that had us stopped.

My issue deals more with the fact that this run game is able to be stopped on an all too often basis.

The fact defenses openly focus on shutting down our running forcing our QB and passing game to beat them says much .
Most of the time, opposing defenses had 7 or fewer men in the box when shutting down our running attack. This was debated as naseum throughout the season, plus a few posters provided a few play clips to prove this to be true. I'm not going to look for those clips once again, so one can either take my word for it or keep parroting such falsehoods in order to cover up for our way overpaid Oline and RBs shortcomings.

Of course, our Offense crapped the bed in several games where our Defense kept us close, ..... but why did the Offense crap the bed in those games? THAT is what you need to seek answers for. They are there if you look for them @shabazz .

They may not have always had more than 7 in the box but many teams admitted that stopping the run was their focus when playing us. Some teams simply had more success than others.

Our success rate of winning is dismal when Zeke rushes for less than 75 yards and why teams make it a priority to stifle our running game which doesn’t necessarily include stacking the box.

Because they got off to slow starts. Partly with the running game being stifled.

Dak often made miraculous efforts to come back but came up short. But teams see that they can give up big passing performances by Dak and still beat us cause we struggle scoring.

The question we need to be asking is why is our running game being able to be stopped without Our QB and passing game making defenses pay for it?

You do realize this mostly falls on our overpaid Oline, don't you? If they don't consistently win their battles, it affects both our running and passing game. Plus, how many times were drives killed due to penalties? Many times. The lack of discipline of this team over the years is what hurt this team. That fell strictly on the previous coaching staff.

Ok...so why do we struggle scoring?

They can post all the statistics they want. But at no point during the 2019 season did the cowboys remind me of the greatest show on turf or the 2007 Patriots. They didn't even remind me of the 2007 cowboys. They reminded me most of the 2013 cowboys with some added perfum .
