Why would Scandrick be gone with the drafting of a first round corner? Rookie corners typically struggle, and who is your #3 corner (a starter in the passing era) with Jones and the new rookie?

Uhhh no...Scandrick is currently the best CB we have (unless Jones proves otherwise this year), but we still need to replace Carr and Claiborne who I see most likely gone by next year. Just can't see trying to draft 2-3 CB that can come in and be a solid starter from day one.

Scandrick just did what he was supposed to do.....get more money on a deal that had him locked up until he was in his 30s. Good deal for both parties too if you ask me. Oh, and he isn't going anywhere with his speed he has another 4 years left at least.

I'm actually getting mixed reports on this. All the cap sites have one thing, but spagnola said what happened was that he converted long term guaranteed money into upfront money. I'm going to try to find a solid source for details.

How? He got a decent pay raise this year and a slight pay raise next year. It's not like he's breaking the bank.

He's already 28 and is under contract till 2019. It's not like he was about to hit free agency or anything. He's still paid considerably less than most corners.

He most likely has no leverage in the future and risks getting cut if he throws another tantrum.

From what Mickey said on talking cowboys, is that he converted his long term guaranteed money into short term base salary increases. This isn't the same as what I've seen reported or what I see on spotrac or overthecap (though overthecap doesn't look like it has been updated at all).

You know, this is a funny thought, but I think you have to look at the law of diminishing return and whether or not it is applicable to a 5 man offensive line.
