:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: @ all the guys in here w/ the "I don't get scared." It's ok if a movie scares you some, you don't have to save face by stating 1st that you don't get scared. :laugh2:

Saying that....this was a sppoooooky movie.

Just to give you a quick synopsis, this movie was based on a true story and true events that took place in Texarkana, Arkansas in 1946. A serial killer stalked and killed 5 teenagers in this small town and was never caught. The story is very interesting and if ever remade, I think could be an unbelievable film. Here are three things this story has that are great; a serial killer with a very cool look, unsolved mysteries and murders, and the feeling of doom from the entire town that this tragedy is set in.

I grew up on the Florida coast. With no close challenger, the movie that scared me the most was Jaws. I know it's not your traditional horror flick, but it's an honest answer. I grew up sailing, skiing, fishing, and swimming in the Gulf of Mexico... I saw Jaws when I was about 7-8 years old. I kept doing all the water stuff, but every time I went in the water - and even now, 30+ years later - I think about that freakin' movie.

If you are into doing things on the water like that, I can understand why JAWS scared you so much. After my uncle took me to see JAWS as a kid, I have been a habitual shark freak most of my life. I still get spooked when diving. The fish were there and now they are gone. Then your mind starts over thinking and then it starts...doo doomp......doo doomp.....doomp doomp doomp
doomp....(trumpet sound).....doomp..doomp..doomp...domp.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......

"Cage goes in the water....you go in the water...shark's in the water...."

"Farewell and adieu to you fair spanish ladies......" :laugh2:

Paranormal Activity 2 = 6/10

Very unrealistic. A downer, but still entertaining.

I like found footage stuff because it feels more authentic.

The scene in Blair Witch when they awake in the tent to hear giggling and crying children outside, then they get cashed off out of their tents. That part is really creepy.

Also, the scene in Paranormal Activity when they hear the loud thud and the whiny goat noise. Awesome awesome stuff.

I find videogames get my adrenaline going and "the fear" more than movies. FEAR 2 was a great one for PC. I'm sure they have it on console too. Amnesia: The Dark Descent is one im trying now.

I like to play with the lights off and a good pair of headphones on. Definitely creepy.

I don't really like horror movies. I tend to avoid them if at all possible.

That said, when I did watch them, the only that stuck was Birds by Alfred Hitchcock.

I still hate being under a flock of birds. I drove into a parking lot that had a bunch of them sitting on a power line and I kept driving. Didn't even bother trying to get out of the car.

There was also an old movie about rats that still bothers me. It was like these big humongous rats attacking ppl. *shivers*
I watched the birds for the first time today. I walked outside and saw a huge flock of birds and like gasped for a moment before realizing i was ok :p:

I've never been scared, but I was freaked by the "The Shining". The moving was a bit too long, but from "Redrum!" to the twins.

And this scene....

And "It" with that damn clown.

Nothing like watching a clown kill kids as a young child.

The final scene in "Se7en" made my stomach hurt.

"What's in the box?!"

Off the movie topic, but It has finally been release on audio book. Steven Weber is the reader and does an excellent job, he does many different voices and is not boring at all.

I have read the book once but am thoroughly enjoying it a second time around. One of the best horror stories for sure.

You're not thinking of "It," are you? Maybe "Storm of the Century?"

That movie scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.

So did the Freddy movies.

Freddy was the all time catch22 because you couldn't go to sleep.

Oh yeah, definitely my favorite franchise behind the Alien series. Part 1 really did a number on me as a kid.

The new one made my teeth hurt though. I just didn't like Jackie Earle Haley as Freddie.

I don't think I've ever seen a truly scary movie. Even some of the great ones haven't scared me.

Same with me. Saw the title of this thread and thought about this ... I don't recall ever seeing anything that scared me ... at least since I was 5 or 6.

We watched The Birds a couple of months ago for family movie night. It unnerves my wife a little, but the kids thought it was kinda funny.
