Those pools are built with reinforced concrete and a ledge that sticks inward from the edge preventing someone from getting directly next to the edge. I have a fear of heights and would have no problem swimming in an infinitey pool.

I don't think I could even knowing that. That would scare the hell out of me.

I hadn't heard that before, but I also have never seen the construction of a negative edge pool on a high rise. The only ones I see tend to be closer to the ground although I have seen a few up around 25 ft to 30 ft due to steep slope lots. Those mostly look like the attached pictures.
