Schedule so Far

A few observations:

1. Have we played the toughest schedule in the NFL so far? After 8 games we have played teams that have 6 wins or more 5 times. We have only played 1 team with a losing record. And we have played 5 of our 8 games on the road (about to be 6 of 9).

2. We have played with devastating injuries. Our #1 running back has missed 3 games. Our #2 running back is playing at about 70%. We lost our best LB and defensive player for the season.... along with a whole host of other injuries.

I will make a prediction....

If we beat Philly in Philly (and that is a big if). This team will be 7-5 when it goes to Cincy.

But honestly, if you can put the anger and disappointment away for a second, can you acknowledge that our schedule has been brutal? Because it sure looks like that to me. Now, granted, it would be argued by some that WE should be the 8-0, 7-1, 6-2 or 6-3 team. But I would still say this has been a tough stretch.

No schedule with the Panthers and Buccaneers on it could be that tough. Seattle is questionable as well. Nice defense, but an absolute turd at QB in today's NFL.

It's been a tough schedule, no question. However, there's always going to be some type of excuse: They quit on Wade; they have too many injuries; their schedule is too difficult; Dez is learning; etc, etc.

However, at some point in time, they have to suck it up and start winning. Two years ago, they finished 6-10. Last year, they finished 8-8. This year, they're on pace for another 6-10 finish. That's not a team on an upward trajectory.

I agree. Going to ATL against a undefeated team and getting a win isn't easy.

Philly is in a tailspin
Eli has struggled to amass 200 yds passing in his last couple games. The Giants are struggling.
Commanders are not that good. Even Shanahan is calling out roster moves to the media in week 8.

So it's not over yet. But next week's game against Philly is CRUCIAL for any hopes of salvaging this season.

I'm with you 100%. I'm disgusted with where we have fallen as a franchise. I'm one who places the biggest load of blame on Jerry Jones. But was just thinking about the schedule tonight and the fact that it is a bit unusual (I think) at the midway point of the season. I can't think of too many season when we could say that our first 8 games would only yield 1 game against a losing team, and 6 of the first 9 on the road.

Excellent point. I fear that if the team doesn't start winning soon, and by soon, I mean next week, Garrett will start to lose the team. Sure, we hear all the reports of how much he is respected in the locker rooms, but when the process does not result in winning and success, you start to lose a bit of respect. That's why I think it is critical for him to turn over play calling to either Romo or Callahan. That way, the team will not blame him for holding the offense back and he can have more room to focus on managing the game and preparing the team.

I still doubt the teams ability to do that, unless there is some drastic change to the way things are done. Even 4-4 is a stretch at this point.

I doubt it too JJ. Nothing so far this year indicates they can.

BUT

I do think if they can somehow knock off Philly this week, they can win the next 3 at home.

Then they would have to split their last 4 games.

Yes, we have -- by far.

Our remaining schedule is the third-easiest in the league right now. If we had any sort of home-field advantage, you could argue that it's the easiest, because we have five home games left, and the only two teams with more difficult schedules (very slightly more difficult) both have only four.
