Adam Schefter
Teams with most cap room today: Tampa Bay ($67 million under cap); KC ($62 mil): Cincy ($60 mil); Denver ($49 mil); Washington ($49 mil).

Adam Schefter
Teams with least cap room today: Pitt ($11 million over cap); Oak ($11 mil over); Carolina ($9 mil over); Giants ($9 mil over); Jets (even).

Bengals are going to be a force next year with what they had last year and all the cap space.

How is Washington 49 mill under the cap?

While that looks like a lot of room, they have a ton of FA's and some of these are actually servicable players:

LB London Fletcher, TE Fred Davis, S LaRon Landry, QB Rex Grossman, RB Tim Hightower, DE Adam Carriker, LB Rocky McIntosh, OL Will Montgomery, DE Kedrick Golston, OL Kory Lichtensteiger (restricted), WR Donte Stallworth, OL Sean Locklear

Who in the hell on our roster is actually worthy of big money? :lmao2:

Thats how. There isn't a QB taking up millions of dollars. Bruce Allen cleared out the cap when he got in and used the uncapped year to perfection by moving bonuses of Haynesworth and Hall into 2010.

Really the only name FA that needs to be brought back is Fletcher. Davis will get the franchise tag and the others will be brought back and the right price.

Which means Danny can go make it rain in 3 weeks :)

On that list

Priorities

Fletcher
Davis

Will have to prove they are healthy in 2012 and thusly won't get paid this offseason

Landry
Hightower

Would be nice to have back at right price

Carriker
Montgomery
Kory L
Golston

Is gone

Locklear
MacIntosh
Possibly Landry

And that's worked so well for you guys over the years.

If it was Vinny picking guys I would be worried

The FA class last year- Bowen/Wilson/Coefield were excellent contributors at very good prices.

Chester wasn't bad at RG either

I expect the Commanders to sign Chris Meyers quickly (if he comes available), Jeremy Zuttah be in the Brandon Carr sweepstakes, and bring in Eddie Royal and Martellus Bennet

Addresses the o-line, secondary, WR holes, Bennet would be the blocking TE and allows the team to free wheel in the draft

I would LIKE to see us go after Ben Grubbs also but I don't see Shanahan bringing in a high priced guard.

I really hope not. I am going to my first ever cowboys game this year when they play at the bengals and I want a win for the first and possibly only time I ever see them play in person.

LaCanfora's numbers are way different. I realize moves will be made, so perhaps Schefter is projecting.

I don't know that you can lay all the blame on Vinny. Fact is teams that spend big in FA rarely see much bang for their buck. If the Commanders are smart they won't blow all that cap room this offseason. They'd be better off targeting a few players and having another full draft class like the last one.

Oh I am with you 100 percent. I don't expect the Commanders to blow all the cap room, and its not in the Shanallahan MO to do that, or else we would have signed Santonio Holmes last offseason along with Cullen Jenkins.

However there are holes and there is cap room to make moves.

Meyers is an absolute no brainer signing to me. Played in Houston, drafted by Mike in Denver, is an excellent C for a ZBS.

Royal is another no brainer, grew up spitting distance from Commanders Park, had his best year under Shanahan.

Carr would be a huge upgrade to the secondary, which needs one based on the NFCE WRs.

The only big huge money out of that group is Carr. The other 2 will come in at good deals.

After that, Grubbs would be nice, but I don't see it happening. It sounds like Zuttah will be the choice to fill in at LG next to Trent.

Bennet would be an excellent blocking TE addition.

Fill those holes and trading up for RG3 doesn't hurt nearly as bad

If Shannahan, get's yet another Cowboy player in Bennett. Going in and taking Stephen Bowen last season...I have to believe that he would fit the Commander needs well, and probably starts becoming a reliable receiver as well. Something he had few opportunities to do so far, in Dallas.

They always had pictures of the NFL executives....so are always under the cap no matter how much they are over the year before....

They're in DC. That's where we just print money to create "cap space".

Yeah! They didn't let their "franchise" QB and 2 over the hill loud mouth WR's run over them.

Let Jonathan Joseph get paid with the Texans which was a coin flip because he didn't earn the pay the season prior.

They drafted like a team picking where they picked and got 2 core players.

Now they'll have $ in what's going to be a FA perior that will have as much opporunity is any. Not saying it's the right route to go overall, because FA is not.

But if you're going to use it this would be the year because there will be talented players just before or in their prime available. Where there was not as many in the past.

Hey Skins fan dude, what do you think of Landry? Would he be a good fit here next to Sensy? Or is he overrated and the injury he is refusing to get fixed to big of a red flag?

Thanks
